We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Zoom Phone team. In this role, you’ll design and develop high-impact, scalable solutions that help power one of the fastest-growing products at Zoom. You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, user-friendly telephony solutions that integrate seamlessly with the broader Zoom platform.

About the Team

Our engineering team focuses on developing and evolving Zoom’s cloud-based phone services. We collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, Sales, and Support to lead product strategy and deliver innovative communication solutions. Our mission is to enhance the global telephony experience for millions of users by building scalable, dependable, and intuitive features.

Responsibilities

Leading the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing features.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn product vision into tangible deliverables.
Implementing scalable cloud-based automation and deployment strategies.
Analyzing and optimizing system and program performance.
Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing hands-on customer support when needed.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical design documentation and API specifications.
Driving best practices in coding, security, and development operations.

What we’re looking for

Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of software engineering experience; leadership experience is advantageous.
Have excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience in the SMS industry or SMS development is highly advantageous.
Have exceptional programming skills in Java and experience with Java open-source frameworks such as Spring, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot.
Have full-stack development experience, including front-end technologies like React or Angular, HTML5, and CSS, along with back-end services and RESTful APIs.
Have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and technologies, including Microservices Architecture, AWS, and NoSQL solutions.
Have deep knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Elasticsearch, AWS S3, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
Have experience in secure application development and cloud computing best practices.
Have a good track record of building scalable application platform solutions and integrating with third-party services.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$124 000,00

Maximum:

$271 200,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
