As a member of the backend engineering team, you will work on high-availability microservices that are the foundation of Zoom Contact Center. You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on clean architecture, system reliability, and performance at scale.
About the Role:
Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver high-quality features to customers.
Own and optimize critical service components across databases and messaging layers.
Build and maintain integrations with storage and search systems including MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system health, availability, and observability.
Participate in on-call rotations, proactively respond to production incidents, and drive root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
Support CI/CD pipelines, automate tests, and ensure production system health and stability.
Participate in system design reviews, code reviews, and technical deep dives.
Triage customer issues and contribute to long-term platform quality and performance.
About You:
Basic Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems.
Strong programming skills in Java, with solid experience in Spring Boot framework.
Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, especially MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
Familiar with performance optimization, multithreading, caching strategies, and scalability techniques.
Comfortable with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native development (e.g., AWS ECS, S3, ElasticCache).
Clear communication and collaboration skills with a focus on practical execution.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$98 900,00Maximum:
$228 700,00In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
