The Role
We are looking for a Manager, Direct I/O to support media planning and activation across digital direct IO buying and traditional publisher media. You'll work closely with Senior Managers and Programmatic counterparts to ensure integrated display and video media strategies are executed effectively. This role is a key point of contact for relevant media channels (Linear, OOH, Audio, Digital Direct, and more) and will be responsible for assisting with planning, activation, and measurement, bringing a strong, executional focus to drive results.

This is a 1099 freelance role with an expected commitment of approximately 20 hours per week. The engagement is expected to run through January (6 months), with the potential to convert to full-time based on business need and performance.

The anticipated hourly rate for this role will be $30.00/hr - $40.00/hr based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget.

You Will Be
- Assisting with the execution of planning for always-on, seasonal, and ad hoc campaigns across direct partner media, including digital direct IO buys.
- Developing a solid understanding of the client’s business, marketing objectives, and KPIs.
- Supporting integrated media strategy leads to ensure the Direct media program ladders up to the overarching strategy.
- Helping to manage the RFP process for traditional media and IO negotiations for digital direct, from identifying partners to finalizing recommendations.
- Contributing to improving operational efficiencies within the team across planning, activation, reporting, and ad ops, with a focus on streamlining digital direct IO processes.
- Supporting negotiations for program inclusions, rates, and terms with partners across both traditional and digital direct.
- Identifying opportunities to expand partnerships and provide added value and cost efficiencies to our programs, including exploring new digital direct opportunities.
- Assisting in bringing new opportunities to clients across publisher, data, and measurement partnerships to drive innovation, especially within the digital direct landscape.
- Supporting the implementation of advanced measurement techniques across partners, including those specific to digital direct campaigns.
- Partnering with Programmatic leads for holistic Display/Video strategy.
You Must Have
- 1-3 years of directly related experience in media planning or buying. Full-funnel marketing experience is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of the digital media landscape across display, video, social, and content, including experience with digital direct IO buying. Familiarity with the programmatic landscape and synergies between direct, traditional, and programmatic buying is a plus.
- Experience or strong interest in supporting publisher direct programs, including assisting with writing briefs, identifying potential partners, managing the RFP process for traditional and IO negotiations for digital direct, evaluating partners, negotiating contracts, and presenting recommendations.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage projects, delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- Track record of building and maintaining relationships, working with vendors, and supporting campaign execution.
- Strong organizational and process-oriented skills, particularly related to digital direct IO management.
- Proactive and results-oriented approach with a desire to learn and grow.
