Responsibilities
Software Engineer position with the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Division of Broadcom in Palo Alto, CA.
Architect, design & develop next generation networking paradigms related to distributed switching and routing in Virtual Private Cloud, leveraging overlay technologies like VxLAN and Geneve.
Design, develop and implement high-quality, scalable and performant Enterprise grade networking system software stack that is widely deployed in datacenters.
Influence consensus cross functionally on architecture and design across VCF products.
As a hands-on developer, implement efficient kernel and user space software; unit and integration tests; debug, analyze and resolve issues adeptly.
Drive the timely and efficient resolution of complex customer issues and escalations, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Bachelor's plus 12 years relevant experience/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years relevant industry experience.
Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts with experience in Systems & Kernel programming.
Strong expertise in C/C++/Python programming.
Must have prior experience in networking stack software development, industry work experience in L2/L3 forwarding.
Good conceptual understanding of software defined networking, network virtualization, overlay networking, distributed network systems, data center networking and cloud computing.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $141,300 to $226,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
