JOB PURPOSE:

As the Global Marketing Technology Manager at Ben & Jerry’s, you will be at the forefront of maintaining, activating, and innovating around a set tools and technologies that drive our digital marketing efforts. This role focuses on leveraging technology to enhance the Ben & Jerry’s experience in digital spaces, improve marketing performance, and support our social mission and ability to drive progressive social justice work. This position plays a central role in bringing the brand to life digitally, and partners closely with digital, media, IT, and marketing teams in order to deliver against strategic priorities.

The foundational functional areas of this role include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of in-year and multi-year technology roadmap to keep Ben & Jerry’s on the cutting edge of marketing technology

  • Overseeing the selection, integration, and management of core marketing technology platforms across data, site UX, AI, measurement, issue advocacy, and retail

  • Championing the use of ad tech, data & acquisition, and analytics to inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and improve ROI on $50M advertising investment

  • Leading cross-functional project work across internal teams and external platform stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of marketing technology solutions

  • Act as lead technology partner for Ben & Jerry’s $200M digital commerce business

  • Ensure that all marketing technology solutions comply with data privacy regulations and security best practices

The Global Marketing Technology Manager will operate from within the broader Digital Marketing team, and will partner very closely with the head of Ben & Jerry’s IT team, acting as a bridge between marketing and IT to ensure the needs of digital marketers across the global are translated and effectively addressed. This role will bring a data driven mindset paired with an understanding of digital and performance marketing to ensure all tools and technologies that are implemented are highly actionable and valuable to digital marketeers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as marketing lead for global website and marketing technology footprint across 36+ countries in which Ben & Jerry’s operates, ensuring smooth execution, and thoughtful multi-year strategy

  • Manage a network of over 20 marketing technology solutions that power Ben & Jerry’s front end website experience in order to drive effective marketing including contracting, platform oversight, troubleshooting, and activation

  • Partner closely with the IT team to ensure smooth integration and execution of marketing technology tools into CMS platform and other existing systems, regulations, and policy.

  • Apply a strong working understanding of paid media to oversee implementation of ad tech in order to deliver data driven audiences and conversion based media programs and optimization

  • Facilitate project governance of marketing driven projects from local, regional, and global digital marketing team members to ensure timely completion of the most impactful projects

  • Support local, regional, and global digital marketing teams in developing and executing website and technology elements of digital marketing campaigns to achieve shared goals

  • Lead retail technology team in order to deliver robust and resilient retail technology systems for Ben & Jerry’s franchise operations

  • Ensure strong operational efficiency and execution of global email newsletter programs by partnering across brand, digital, and integrated marketing teams

  • Lead marketing relationship with anchor technology partner responsible for CRM, segmentation, SMS, consumer data, and other ad tech solutions

  • Analyze and report on the performance of key marketing technology metrics including but not limited to site health and visitation, purchase funnels, 1:1 activity, and ad tech

  • Drive cultural adoption and implementation of 1P branded consumer data acquisition campaigns to build volume, quality, and access to consumer data

  • Collaborate with IT and parent company to ensure that all marketing technology initiatives comply with relevant data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security protocols

  • Lead training sessions for marketing teams to ensure effective use of marketing technology platforms

  • Track and monitor project volume against marketing initiatives and associated impact in order to optimize operational teams associated with delivering against strategic priorities

  • Operate and innovate upon brand generative AI solutions to streamline and automate key marketing technology and digital marketing capabilities to enable digital marketeers across the global

  • Troubleshoot any issues related to marketing technology and coordinate with IT and vendors to resolve them promptly

  • Champion a culture of inclusivity and equity, embedding these principles into daily operations, team dynamics, and project outcomes

  • Promote and integrate inclusive and equitable practices within the team and across all projects, ensuring diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of our work

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

SKILLS: Digital and Technical Expertise

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in media, technology, marketing, or other relevant subject, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 8-10 years in digital marketing or marketing technology (a combination of such a plus) with proved success of managing and implementing marketing technology and partnering with marketers and technical teams

  • Experience managing marketing agencies and vendors – experience with outcome based marketing technology solutions is a plus

  • Strong understanding of digital media, performance marketing, digital commerce, and path to purchase solutions

  • Strong understanding of development workflows associated with site content, as well as SEO, SEM, CRM, P2P, GA4/AA and other analytics solutions such as DOMO or other dashboards

  • Experience, knowledge, and understanding of corporate digital advocacy solutions

  • Excellent project management skills and initiative are required.

  • Ability to manage projects through complex stakeholder environments and competing priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be flexible in high stress situations and be able to effectively trouble shoot.

  • Must be able to work independently, to accomplish multiple tasks with limited direct supervision.

LEADERSHIP: Passion for High Performance

Pay: The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
