Our Global Skin Care R&D Center in Trumbull Connecticut is looking for an experienced scientist to join our team to lead the dermatologist/medical marketing related work stream. This is an exciting opportunity for a role designed to support the R&D Director/Manager to create the Medical marketing and E&A (Expertise and Authorities) strategy for Global brands and execute them in full to allow the maximum reach of the Brand to the Dermatologists/ Medical associations / KOFs/ Dermatologist conferences etc.

You will be the R&D interface with the Global Marketing team and other non-R&D functions. In this role, you will plan, direct, be responsible for establish the Dermatologist network across the globe and creating the Medical marketing content together with the R&D Design team, marketing team, creative agencies and executing them. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum integration with Regional/Business Unit R&D teams for all the Skin Care brands and the roll out of the medical marketing program for the region.

Thought leadership, strong interpersonal relationship, stakeholder management, deep technical understanding and flawless execution in skin biology, various skin care formats and related chemistries, upstream S&T technologies, market/consumer/customer insights, PETA NAT/VEGAN, product biodegradability and sustainability, and natural preservatives are just some of the areas critical to the success of this role. This is a high visibility role requiring independence, creativity, team leadership and technical guidance, excellent communication with partner functions, and passion for Skin Care.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create content basis consumer and technical insights, skin biology, product technology, product Claims and relevant communications for multiple brands in global and local markets, that will excite the Dermatologists, Medical associations, KOFs.

  • Be the point of Contact between R&D, Marketing, Creative agencies and the Dermatologist association to plan and execute for the Medical Marketing program.

  • Establish relationship with Various Dermatologists across the Globe, Medical associations etc. lead Skin Care R&D to participate in various Conferences, Medical program to showcase the depth of Unilever technologies and how these have been integrated into our products to address the consumer need gaps.

  • Put together the Medical Marketing and E&A calendar for the Skin Care category by working closely with the R&D, Marketing and other non R&D functions.

  • Have interest and experience in digital tools.

Main Accountabilities

  • Be fully operational in seeking diverse contributions, inputs, and commitments from senior leadership, gaining alignment, as necessary.

  • Identify internal and external partners and work in collaboration to create a Dermatologist network across regions, engage with Medical association, represent Unilever Skin care technologies at various conferences.

  • Ability to create Content using digital tools etc. explaining the Product Technology, the technology benefits, product claims etc. Incorporate Skin biology, technology information, consumer and customer needs and market trends into content creation for the Dermatologist/ KOFs. Create the Medical marketing calendar for skin care, Define project resources against time and budget boundaries.

  • Strengthen the relationship & engagement with external agencies: Dermatologist network, KOFs, Medical associations, Media agency, consumer market research agencies, academia Interpretation of scientific data and turn these into insights and content. Strengthen relationship and engagement with internal teams: R&D formulation, Regional R&D teams, Marketing, U-studio, Science & Technology, Regulatory, Legal etc. Work closely with digital R&D team to create new initiatives.

  • Work closely with the Regional R&D and brand teams to understand the region-specific priorities, consumer needs, trends, and design content accordingly.

The individual with the right profile for this role:

You’re creative: Must be able to translate the technology information into content for the Dermatologist network. KOFs and in a way able to further translate them basis consumer needs.

You have a special ability to connect people: you can connect people from different functions and have a great ability to talk about technical challenges in an easy engaging way

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A minimum BS degree in science with relevant experience and a very solid technical grounding in Skin Care

  • Preferably with 3 - 4 years experience in roles including healthcare professional engagement and/or Formulation Design/ Development and/or CTI/Claims (Consumer research, Claims and Communication Development) (including internship)

  • Have current working knowledge of skin biology, S&T technologies, Clinical methods, how to design claims and communication content.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
