We're looking for a talented individual to join our Centre Management Team as Shopping Centre General Manager for a 10-12 month fixed-term contract. You will lead the strategic direction of Fisketorvet, ensuring the centre meets all business objectives by driving profitability, operational excellence, and a customer-focused management strategy. Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key stakeholders while overseeing and coordinating all centre functions, including Customer Journey, Security, Cleaning, Guest Services, Car Parks, and Marketing, to deliver seamless operations and sustained success.

What you will be doing…

  • Contributor to developing, implementing and evaluating the annual business plan with a special focus on centre capex, service charge, management & car park income.

  • Define and be accountable for the relevant budgets within the 5YBP process, notably for actions and budgets needed for customer journey management and improvements, Community Resilience Action plan implementation and Better Places certification.

  • Review all costs and expenses, track against budgets and approve the monthly forecast. Identify potential areas of revenue and efficiencies by developing business cases and feasibility studies.

  • Actively drive the sales and footfall evolution. Report and analyse brand and centre performance, including sales, footfall, intelligent camera systems, customer surveys etc.

  • Lead, develop and deploy the Customer and Content Strategy of Fisketorvet in collaboration with other departments, ensuring a smooth, qualitative and (Quality) customer journey.

  • In coordination with the Head of Security Northern Europe, be responsible for the deployment of on-site security as well as employment and compliance with rules and regulations regarding safety and legal requirements, together with PMPS.

  • Manage and follow up on team performance and build a strong, high-performing team.

  • Be the figurehead representing Fisketorvet in key stakeholder partnership meetings and retailer relations, and build positive relations with tenants and other stakeholders, including neighbours, politicians, civil servants and local media.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement a strategic community programme (Community Resilience plan (CRP)) that supports the centre's brand values and integrates the local community into Fisketorvet

  • Maintain communications with all tenants to ensure all operational procedures are fully implemented and ensure all tenants comply to the lease terms, including trading hours, operational requirements and user clauses.

  • Provide clear guidance and management to all direct reports, ensuring business and personal objectives are set and achieved.

  • Conduct direct report performance reviews and ensure that all staff have a regular review in line with company policy.

  • Ensure all staff comply with corporate personnel policies and applicable laws.

What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

  • Extensive experience in a strategic management role in a dynamic, fast-growing and demanding environment (shopping centre, operating, asset management, marketing, retail, hospitality or equivalent).

  • Leadership and development of large teams at various levels, including senior management

  • Corporate finance experience, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning

  • Excellent working knowledge and application of service charge recoveries

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.

  • Sound business acumen and commercial experience

  • Proven experience of fostering effective working relationships at all levels, with the ability to influence to meet business needs
