About the Role

The Global Onboarding team is responsible for building onboarding and integration experiences that help new hires ramp quickly, feel connected, and succeed at Uber. As we enter our next phase of onboarding evolution, we are looking for a strong program manager with an employee experience and/or learning & development background to help design and build experiences across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on new hire community-building, integration, and new hire orientation redesign.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, execution, and scaling of new hire community programming and experiences, including end-to-end experience design, programming strategy, event cadence, and virtual and hybrid events that help new hires connect, engage, and integrate across regions.
  • Own the evolution of the New Hire Integration Programs, such as New Hire Orientation Content, Buddy Programs (new hire and manager buddy), including revamping program design, piloting improvements, building feedback loops, and improving adoption and experience quality.
  • Support the redesign of key onboarding content and learner experiences, including New Hire Orientation narrative, updates, and deck evolution.
  • Operationalize abstract HR concepts into structured onboarding program plans, including defining success criteria, KPIs, scope, milestones, timelines, stakeholder alignment, and risk management.
  • Proactively identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive work forward end-to-end
  • Develop clear, high-quality learning and enablement materials, including decks, facilitator guides, communications, and supporting program content
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Learning Ops, People Operations, People Partners, and inclusion partners (IDEA team / ERGs) to ensure alignment, accountability, and delivery.
  • Communicate program vision, progress, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to senior stakeholders and partners, influencing without authority and driving decisions when needed

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in program management, employee experience, learning & development, onboarding, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong instructional design and learning experience design skills, including the ability to build compelling learning narratives and content
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering employee onboarding or employee lifecycle programs at scale; building programs using design thinking principles
  • Excellent deck-building and storytelling ability, with strong written and visual communication skills, along with executive presence
  • Strong program management fundamentals, including structured execution, stakeholder management, and managing multiple workstreams in parallel
  • Experience driving cross-functional work across a global HR / People teams and operational partners
  • Experience building community or integration programming (new hire cohorts, community experiences, hybrid/virtual events) at scale
  • Experience designing and delivering hybrid and virtual employee events, including strategy, content, and end-to-end execution in partnership with operations teams
  • Familiarity with Slack, Teleskop, and community channels (channel management, engagement tactics, moderation norms)
  • Experience partnering with DEI / inclusion teams and designing programming that supports belonging and inclusion (e.g., ERG engagement)
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and high stakeholder complexity in a heavily matrixed environment

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$114,000 per year - USD$127,000 per year.
