About the role
We have established a centralized Governance Strategy & Engagement team responsible for guiding corporate governance strategy, shareholder engagement and activism, and global reporting and disclosures. Our team works cross-functionally to further our vision, deliver on our goals, and strengthen and evolve our governance and engagement practices, under the direction of Uber’s Global Head of Governance Strategy & Engagement.
As regulations continue to emerge globally with evolving investor expectations, reporting requirements, and company priorities, we are looking for a candidate to assist in project managing various elements of our overall Governance Strategy & Engagement program coupled with administrative support to Uber’s Global Head of Governance Strategy & Engagement. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility and the opportunity to take on a broad range of responsibilities and growth opportunities.

You will have the chance to work with dynamic teams across the company and external experts outside of Uber. You will shape and deliver on existing and non-existing programs and drive centralized processes that support the long term direction of Governance Strategy & Engagement at Uber.
What You’ll Do
Administrative and Business Operations Management:
- This role requires comfort with administrative tasks, including calendar management, scheduling and meeting coordination, billing support, coordination across global regional meetings, and other ad hoc responsibilities.
- Participate in and help lead the planning process for our Governance Strategy & Engagement program.
- Help establish and track a set of global OKRs.
- Proactively flag deviations in execution vs. plans and coordinate course correction across different teams, as needed.
- Coordinate with owners of key regional, global, and functional Governance Strategy & Engagement forums and events.
- Produce high quality projects and deliverables, maintain key communication channels, and produce ad hoc updates as required.
Governance Strategy & Engagement Operations and Support:
- Support Uber’s Global Head of Governance Strategy & Engagement across the overall program, team operations, shareholder engagements, executive leadership interactions, and Board of Directors matters.
- Work closely with global cross functional leads and teams.
- Assist with preparing executive ready presentations, including to Uber’s Board of Directors, executive leadership, steering committees, business partners, external engagements, and other ad hoc presentation assignments.
- Support shareholder and other external engagements, including providing administrative support and project management of in-season and off-season engagements.
Project Management:
- Work closely with department leads on various assignments.
- Lead mega-regional and functional programming to deliver on key projects and disclosures, such as our annual Governance Strategy & Engagement Report, ad hoc reporting and disclosures, global and regulatory disclosure alignment, rater and ranker surveys, and others as assigned.
- Project manage ad hoc forums, including our Steerco and working group, and others as they emerge.
- Work closely with department leads to ensure all data and dashboards are maintained and used in appropriate forums.
- Support external facing customer driven questionnaires and requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in program management, operations or relevant experience and minimum of two (2) years of direct ESG or related experience.
- Knowledge of sustainability (environmental, social, and governance) issues and approaches.

- The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in an exciting, fast-paced environment, collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done.
- Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action.
- Strong program and project management skills with a focus on KPI setting and tracking, as well as experience extracting insights from data, visualizing, and summarizing findings and takeaways.
- Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Curiosity, along with the ability to spot issues, get to the heart of a matter, and articulate plans to address them.
- Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through excellent analytical thinking.
- Executional excellence, including a high attention to detail, proactive planning, and the ability to resolve issues as they arise.
- Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both Governance Strategy & Engagement, business leaders, and cross functional partners with a proven ability to build relationships, gain credibility and trust, and partner across functions to build consensus.
- Flexible and excited to work on a wide range of projects.
- Experience preparing high-quality presentations.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$123,000 per year - USD$137,000 per year.
