About the Role

As Senior Manager, Public Policy for Women’s & Personal Safety, you will serve as a senior thought leader and strategic partner shaping Uber’s global approach to women’s and interpersonal safety. This role sits at the intersection of public policy, safety innovation, and stakeholder engagement, translating Uber’s work on women’s safety into robust, forward-looking policy frameworks that resonate with policymakers, advocates, and partners worldwide.

Internally, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Safety Product, Operations, Legal, Communications, and Marketing—helping design and scale impactful programs that advance safety outcomes for women.

Externally, you will play a pivotal role sharing Uber’s work with policymakers, regulators, engaging civil society, and representing the company in high-profile forums. This is an ideal role for a candidate who combines policy expertise with strong judgment, collaboration, and the ability to execute.

What You’ll Do

  • Track legislative, regulatory and broader societal trends around women’s safety around the world. Use these insights to develop thoughtful policies and provide guidance on the safety implications of Uber's products, services, and features on women, survivors and the communities in which Uber operates.
  • Work closely with cross-functional US and global teams to develop and communicate Uber's positions on women’s safety in regulatory submissions, stakeholder meetings, and other external-facing convenings. This includes playing a leading role in developing Uber’s external Safety Reports.
  • Represent Uber on issues of women’s safety and interpersonal safety at public events and conferences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with women’s safety and advocate groups, think tanks and academic organizations, and other industry peers, gather insights to inform Uber's safety policies and product features
  • Facilitate events, roundtables, or research stimulating expert-level discussions that drive meaningful progress in the areas of safety and broader gender issues.
  • Develop and execute campaigns and other programmes with safety groups and other third parties with a view to improving safety for women on and off the Uber app.
  • Partner closely with our internal business teams to guide Uber’s positions on safety products and policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, with 10+ years experience in public policy, advocacy, tech or government affairs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as a Master's or PhD
  • Deep understanding of safety issues, including gender-based violence and women’s safety
  • Experience working in corporate setting.
  • A self starter who is highly adaptable as well as calm under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and coalition-building skills.
  • Outstanding ability to scope, design, prioritize, and implement cross-functional projects.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and executives on high-impact projects and balancing multiple business and/or policy priorities.
  • Ability to distill sophisticated, technical challenges and product issues into persuasive resources both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience working in the technology industry.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year.

For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year.
