See open jobs at Uber.See open jobs similar to "Senior Manager Global Strategy & Planning, CommOps" Getro.org.The GS&P S&P Senior Manager will be a trusted planning partner to the Global Programs, Innovation & Advocacy (GPIA) team, serving as the coordination point and owner for GPIA executive communication, GPIA performance reporting, and half-, annual- and long-range planning. A successful candidate will have a strategic and influential role on how GPIA thinks about, plans, measures, improves, and communicates its impact on CommOps and Uber, and will identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and value of GPIA’s cross-team reporting cadence, structure, and material through its executive forums, planning cycles, and key strategic projects, which the GS&P Senior Manager will be responsible for sourcing with input from the GPIA Leadership Team.
The role will report to the Head of Global Strategy & Planning and will work extremely closely with the GPIA Leadership Team and cross-functional teams like Global Strategic Analytics and Strategic Finance. This person must have strong attention to detail, organizational and program management skills, an ability to influence without explicit authority, and experience managing executive stakeholders. Problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical structuring skills are integral to success. Furthermore this person should have experience influencing and designing clear executive communication, facilitating global planning processes, and fostering productive cross-functional relationships.
What the Candidate Will Do
Working with cross-functional partners and the GPIA Leadership team, the Senior Manager will:
- Program manage GPIA’s annual and long-range financial and operational planning processes, develop a cohesive strategic approach across Program teams, and spearheading ad hoc planning deep dives as necessary
- Work with Analytics teams to facilitate reporting of GPIA business performance metrics to CommOps’ Leadership Team, including understanding and succinctly communicating each of the GPIA team’s underlying business drivers and selecting & building appropriate content deep dives
- Strategically assess and influence the development of GPIA’s monthly reporting cadence, structure, and material to the CommOps LT; build a plan to continuously maximize the ROI of executive communication meetings and material across GPIA
- Drive strategic agenda development and executive storytelling across GPIA internal executive communication and communication to leaders across CommOps, including the LT
- Identify and execute key strategic projects that increase the efficacy, impact, and influence of GPIA across CommOps and Uber
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business / Economics or other quantitative fields
- 7+ years of strategy consulting, corporate strategy, program management, or financial planning
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or PMP
- 9+ years of strategy consulting, corporate strategy, program management, or financial planning
- Experience assessing, improving, and independently running strategic budget & operational planning processes for high-growth teams
- Explicit experience building business cases for investment opportunities
- Ability to create and communicate frameworks for driving cross-functional decision-making using data and principled assumptions
- Excellent organizational and program management skills; ability to build and execute against interdependent timelines
- Experience with Chief of Staff / Program Management Office / executive communications, and the attention to detail required to be successful in those capacities
- Excellent written and verbal executive communication skills, including advanced analytical & presentation skills; e.g. Excel / Google Sheets, PowerPoint / Google Slides, etc.
- Exposure to support operations, including a working knowledge of standard support operational health metrics like customer satisfaction, defect rate, contact rate, etc. and how they influence support economics
- Explicit experience driving cross-functional projects and acting as a senior advisor / thought partner among diverse sets of stakeholders and collaborators
About the team
The Global Strategy & Planning (GS&P) team works with teams around the world to provide critical business insights to help find opportunities and implement operational improvements across Community Operations (“CommOps”), Uber’s support organization. The team is working toward developing a world-class support organization that scales effectively, is reliable and consistent, and provides unmatched service to our Uber community.
The Global Programs, Innovation & Advocacy (GPIA) team houses Global Programs; Insights, CIA and Escalations; and Innovation teams for CommOps. The Global Program teams organize CommOps around programs and user personas to improve customer experience, drive simplification and operational leverage, and speak with a strong single voice to advocate for our customers and agents. The Insights team drives actionable customer insights to influence business and product decisions, to bring down defect rate, accelerate growth and improve effectiveness of our products. Escalations develops and leads world-class global end-to-end escalation programs for CommOps to identify, rectify and prevent future issues both within CommOps and across Uber, improving overall customer experience and lowering operational costs. Finally, the Innovation teams stand up support for key growth bets (e.g., Autonomous Vehicles, Direct, Hailables, and Emerging Programs) - preparing CommOps and Uber for future growth and opportunities.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$186,000 per year - USD$207,000 per year.
