U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone entity of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. The teams within USDS that deliver on this commitment daily span Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, Corporate Functions and more. About the team The Data-E-commerce-Supply Chain and Logistics team is responsible for developing and implementing algorithms and models that optimize various aspects of the supply chain and logistics process. This includes developing predictive models for demand forecasting, optimizing inventory management, improving transportation and distribution networks, improving user experience during order fulfillment and reducing related business costs. Responsibilities: 1. Evaluate existing and develop new machine learning and optimization models for TikTok's e-commerce supply chain and logistics, encompassing tasks like predicting package arrival times, detecting logistics network anomalies, forecasting product demand, and optimizing inventory and pricing decisions. 2. Construct end-to-end, scalable, and efficient data pipelines that automate data preprocessing, model training, and prediction procedures, ensuring streamlined operations. 3. Collaborate closely with data scientists and subject-matter experts to comprehend business needs, identify pivotal factors, and incorporate relevant features into models. 4. Perform comprehensive exploratory data analysis to gain insights into patterns, trends, and seasonal influences that impact model performance. 5. Partner with software engineers to seamlessly integrate machine learning models into production systems, ensuring dependable and timely delivery of outcomes. 6. Vigilantly monitor model performance, recognizing anomalies, and devising solutions to rectify potential forecast errors or biases. 7. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning, demand forecasting techniques, and related domains, skillfully applying this knowledge to bolster the team's capabilities. 8. Effectively communicate findings, insights, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, nurturing a collaborative and data-driven decision-making culture within the organization.

Qualifications

- Possess a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong proficiency in data structures and algorithms, enabling efficient manipulation of large-scale datasets. - Excellent programming skills in Python, allowing for effective model development and implementation. - Proven experience in applied machine learning, demonstrated through successful projects in predictive modeling, or related areas. - Familiarity with Big Data processing frameworks (e.g. Hadoop/Spark) and processing big data (e.g. pyspark). - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering practical and impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment. - Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders. - Experience in the e-commerce, logistics, or supply chain domain is a plus. - Self-driven and adaptable, with a solid grasp of business logic and the agility to navigate rapidly changing business environments.
