The Sustainability Team partners directly with our businesses to support strategic and operational opportunities and deliver high-impact results across its portfolio. This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description

We are looking for an analyst to support and advance sustainability reporting across The Wonderful Company. We seek a detailed-oriented professional who’s passionate about using data to improve our approach to sustainability strategy, food & agriculture, and sustainable packaging. Using strong analytical and technical skills, the ideal candidate will help execute projects driving both economic and environmental value. Projects could include, but are not limited to:

  • Corporate sustainability strategy: learn and eventually lead company sustainability reporting including our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol-aligned carbon footprint, risk reporting (SB 261/TCFD reporting), and other reporting efforts.
    • A key part of this role will be leveraging our internal software to engage and support our businesses in accurate and timely sustainability reporting
  • Sustainability communications: craft product- or business-specific messaging including dashboards to communicate financial and environmental outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
  • Implementation oversight: provide key analysis and visualization for strategy implementation with our businesses by utilizing strong project management and sustainability principles (e.g., SBTi, SASB, GHG Protocol)
  • Sustainable packaging: rPET transition, sustainable packaging alternatives, packaging LCAs, strategic sourcing

Your contribution to sustainability at Wonderful:

  • Know our data: become the expert on resource use including carbon, environmental, and financial impacts
  • Provide a data-informed perspective on past, current, and future sustainability investments
  • Build relationships with internal partners to champion sustainability within the organization
  • Research, interpret, and effectively communicate complex concepts and technical information in a digestible, easy to understand manner
  • Follow US, California, and international trends in climate change, clean energy, and carbon markets, communicating insights and recommended actions
  • Support team project implementation by supporting data aggregation, visualization, analysis and takeaways
  • Scout innovative climate, energy, agricultural, and circular technologies to advance TWC sustainability goals
  • Gain an understanding of the vision, mission and strategic objectives of sustainability at The Wonderful Company

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of work experience in one of the following:
    • A sustainability focused role: preference for expertise in corporate sustainability strategy, sustainable packaging, food and agricultural production, transportation, or waste-to-value
    • OR
    • Strategy, consulting, data management, operations, technology, finance, or related fields with an interest in sustainability
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into understandable narratives
  • Self-motivated with a strong entrepreneurial drive including project management, implementation, and oversight
  • Proven problem-solving skills, time management, and independent decision making
  • Collaborative and team-driven approach
  • Humility, patience, and grit to drive impact with large, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Some travel may be required, primarily within California
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, engineering, agriculture, energy/environment, business, environmental/public policy, or a related field

Pay Range: $80,000-90,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
