The Associate Brand Manager plays a key role in developing and implementing the consumer marketing strategy. They have excellent project management skills and independently run with projects at any stage. They are flexible and adjust plans and strategies according to a variety of changing conditions, including logistical demands and management direction.
The Associate Brand Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and works with senior management to drive strategic initiatives and execute marketing plans that support the fast growth of our diverse businesses. They are the link between our sales, finance, vertically integrated operations, and our in-house creative agency teams (Creative, Insights, Media, and Public Relations).
This role is based at our LA office - 11444 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely Thursday-Friday.
Job Description
- Manage components of the annual brand planning process and manage the effective execution of marketing plans and campaigns.
- Partner with Wonderful's in-house creative agency to define creative, media, and PR programs, providing direction for marketing/creative campaigns.
- Draft executional briefs and articulate feedback to the Agency.
- Assist Brand Manager in preparing presentations for senior leadership utilizing storytelling abilities.
- Leverage multiple data sources to analyze the performance of our brands, as well as relevant categories, and track key success metrics around our marketing efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with trade and sales teams to provide creative, analytical, and ad-hoc support; present to cross-functional partners.
- Project manage ongoing packaging updates and point-of-sale initiatives, working closely with sourcing, print production, and new product development.
- Manage marketing campaign budget, including tracker and invoices.
- Manage marketing budget for programs as needed and exhibit understanding of P&L, trade economics, and promotions.
- Use external information sources (e.g., news articles, social media trends) to stay abreast of the competitive environment, market trends, and world events; utilize these insights to contribute to brand strategy and innovation.
- Independently represent the brand by traveling to trade shows and events, setting up displays, and interacting with potential customers and consumers.
- Execute packaging changes from inception to shelf by partnering with sales, operations, and our new product development team.
- Develop point-of-sale display materials leveraging our in-house creative agency and partnering with sales to execute.
Qualifications
- 4+ years’ relevant marketing experience or MBA + 2-3 years’ work experience.
- Experience in CPG or food and beverage strongly preferred.
- Experience working with syndicated data, preferably IRI or ACNielsen.
- Experience in marketing collateral development, including physical POS displays, packaging, event signage, and swag.
- High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Understanding of the following areas: eCommerce, packaging, advertising, promotions, merchandising, point-of-sale marketing. Beginner copywriting and/or graphic design experience a plus.
- Cross-functional collaboration and relationship building skills.

- Displays strategic thought leadership and intellectual curiosity.
- Strong analytical acumen to offer fact-based strategic insights.
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written skills, including creative briefs.
- Strong project management skills and executional excellence that showcases attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate interdivisional networking.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
Pay Range: $110,000 - $120,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
