Freight Optimization Analyst

Orlando, Florida, USA (Onsite)

Position Summary

The Freight Optimization Analyst will play a major role in the realization of a truly end-to-end, optimized supply chain. The Freight Optimization Analyst will design, create and analyze supply chain reports and processes in order to achieve lowest freight cost, while improving on-time delivery and service execution for a global network of 90+ locations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders within our Global Supply Chain to identify constraints that limits execution to devise and implement corrective actions. You will support new initiatives and process improvements through analysis, solution development, and implementation project work. You will also support with activities related to various Internal & External Audits working with Export Control and Regulatory Compliance Teams. Duty Drawback & Invoice processing are also key functions for this role. The position is located on-site at Orlando, Florida headquarters and is part of a Global Supply Chain network supporting airline customers, MROs, repair stations, and forward stocking locations providing after sale support for aviation suite of products managed under Aviation Global Services (AGS) BL within Thales Group.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Optimize execution through data analysis and collaboration between stakeholders including program, procurement, repair shops,customers, finance, and logistics teams as a key focal for a WW network of supply chain teams.

  • Create and manage large databases for using modeling techniques to develop supply chain improvement initiatives with aggressive deadlines.

  • Develop and present analysis, insights and recommended course of action through Project Management Principles to Stakeholders/Leadership.

  • Identify supply chain constraints that will limit execution and develop resolutions in coordination with key stakeholders.

  • Create and implement procedures that will allow teams to quickly switch shipping methods, incoterms, freight carriers, and other variables without disruptions to daily execution.

  • Identify opportunities to improve Operational Processes and proactively identify resource constraints, conflicting priorities and scheduling issues.

  • Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of supply chain efficiencies in cost, service, and performance and internal KPI’s surrounding all international transportation.

  • Monitor Freight Metrics including Cost & Performance against Historic and Forecasted levels throughout the network.

  • Collaborate with Leadership and Finance to deliver on Freight cost budget while ensuring all stakeholder needs are met.

  • Perform Duty Drawback related tasks which includes gathering and submitting necessary documentation while ensuring compliance with Customs Regulations to maximize refunds.

  • Review Supply Chain invoices for accuracy and compliance to possibly resolve discrepancies and accurately classify costs according to Company guidelines.

  • Implement and maintain continuous improvement efforts using standard operating procedures and guidelines. Support on external and internal audits as needed.

  • Assist with the development, delivery, evaluation and improvement of Performance KPI’s.

  • Work on freight Projects assigned by the Freight Optimization Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or industrial engineering, or related field with a minimum of 1-4 years of work experience or 6 years’ experience and education in lieu of degree may be considered.

  • Ability to extract large amounts of data from multiple sources and convert that into actionable insights.

  • Experience with Process Flow and Visual Stream mapping.

  • Demonstrated experience on all modes of Transport for both Domestic & International including knowledge of Incoterms, shipping methodologies, service levels, rates & pricing structure.

  • Familiarity with Import & Export Compliance, OGAs, Freight Forwarders, Carriers & Consolidators.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Budgeting, P&L, WBS, GL/CC and AR/AP activities.

  • Experience with SAP, Ship ERP, Business Intelligence: Power BI or Tableau and other analytical tools highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in ERP (SAP) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Visio). Executive-friendly presentations

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 54,989.75 - 100,113.25 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
