The Environmental Specialist position is responsible to implement and administer standardized processes to ensure compliance to Federal, State, Provincial and Local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures. This specific position will focus on environmental compliance, Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) environmental domain activities, Environmental Management System (EMS 14001), and environmental improvement goals. This position will help achieve world class status and impact corporate savings through the elimination of environmental impacts and implementation of projects to improve environmental operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
The Environmental Specialist position will report to the Head of US Manufacturing Environmental Compliance and be responsible for and not limited to:
- Manage routine environmental reports, environmental compliance tasks, tracking, inventories and surveys; including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval
- Experience with various environmental requirements, such as waste, water, pollution prevention, air permitting, wastewater, emergency response, tanks, stormwater
- Implement environmental training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted
- Conduct and participate in regular audits (compliance, ISO, SIS) of processes and track/implement follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership and corporate staff of findings
- Analyze environmental incidents, determine root causes, implement/support corrective action and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate team
- Support new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that environmental design specifications and regulations are included
- Coordinate communication of environmental regulatory inspections and audits with leadership
- Assist with emergency response activities
- Identify, support, and/or implement projects to improve key environmental performance metrics
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the plant's environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 (E2HS) and the Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) Environment Pillar requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related field
- Minimum of five years of relevant environmental compliance experience such as auditing, consulting, manufacturing, etc.
- Basic understanding of federal, state, provincial and local environmental regulations and requirements
- Willingness to work on any shift and additional hours, as required
- Represent Stellantis in a professional manner
- Candidate must have integrity and strong work ethic
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and able to communicate with various levels of business
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and/or other software
- Master's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related field
- Strong understanding of federal, state, provincial and local environmental regulations and requirements
- Environmental related professional and regulatory certifications (e.g. PE, CHMM, RCRA, DOT)
- Automotive or manufacturing environmental compliance experience
- Ability to work with various departments to ensure plant environmental compliance, successful audits, implement improved processes and procedures
