Product Engineer is Responsible for Design release of Driveline/Axles components and assemblies responsibilities will include, but not limited to, creating the product Requirements and delivering complete/validated design and product meeting technical requirements (functional and durability) for the assigned inhouse design and/or purchased components and Assemblies. Products may be complex and include new technology, requiring related knowledge and relevant prior experience.

The candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Acts as single point of contact for select components or assemblies as assigned, internally (Stellantis internal stake holders) and externally (supplier partners)
  • Lead the design and development of driveline/Axles systems, subsystems and components. Follow STLA PSDP and Driveline Gate review process and meet Program / Product milestones.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholder teams such as CAE, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), durability, vehicle dynamics, packaging, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • DVP&R Execution: Develop and execute validation plans, including component/system bench/vehicle testing, to verify the performance and durability of systems & components
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify and resolve technical issues utilizing root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Supplier Sourcing, Design reviews & Approvals: Lead design reviews and drive approvals for supplier design selection through appropriate assessments and adherence to Stellantis engineering best practices.
  • Best Practices and Documentation: Create, implement, and manage engineering best practices, including the development and maintenance of core DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DVP (Design Verification Plan) documents related to driveline systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve designs, processes, and products through innovative solutions and best practices.
  • Technical Specification: Generating detailed system and sub-system technical specifications (SSTS/TTS) to ensure functional objectives are met. Manage these documents to ensure alignment of requirements with the supplier base.
  • Total Warranty Cost/Spending Reduction: Identify areas of improvement to reduce total warranty costs and propose technical solutions. Support QTWS initiatives, lead Root Cause and corrective action for Quality / Product Development GIMs.
  • Presentation Skills: Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Industry Competitiveness: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in driveline & Axles technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into product designs.
