The role:
The Director, Functional Finance will manage a team that partners closely with our Functional leaders across Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and General & Administrative translating financial insights into actionable decision-making. The person will set the vision for the team, drive consistency across the team, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while developing high performing Finance talent.
What you’ll do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Finance professionals that work closely with SoFi’s Functional leaders to identify and monitor key performance indicators and develop actionable insights
- Partner with Functional leaders to evaluate investments, trade-offs, and resource allocation by weighing financial and strategic trade-offs
- Facilitate annual and quarterly financial forecasting for SoFi's key business unit initiatives in partnership with SoFi’s Functional leaders and in collaboration with stakeholders cross-departmentally
- Prepare quarterly internal and external materials to facilitate management discussion and analysis of key financial and business performance indicators
What you’ll need:
- 12+ years of related experience, ideally in Strategic Finance or FP&A
- Strong people leadership experience with a focus on talent growth and development
- Experience preparing and presenting financial information to key decision-makers
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
- Experience with FP&A systems
- Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
- Inquisitive nature, attention to detail, strong work ethic, a learning mindset, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to embrace unstructured environments and problems, and manipulate large data sets
- Time and project management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent knowledge (CFA, FP&A experience, Investment analyst)
