About the Role

We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of our stablecoin and crypto platform products.

In this role, you will own the systems that power issuance, custody, movement, and settlement of regulated, asset-backed digital currencies. You’ll be responsible for defining and executing SoFi's stablecoin strategy across both blockchain and traditional financial rails, with a strong focus on accuracy, resilience, and regulatory alignment.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of financial infrastructure, distributed systems, and regulatory requirements. You will work deeply with engineering to shape architecture and long-term technical investments, while partnering closely with compliance, legal, risk, and security to ensure our stablecoin capabilities meet the highest standards of safety, transparency, and control.

Stablecoin product experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for stablecoin issuance and lifecycle management, including minting, burning, redemption, and supply governance.
  • Define and deliver on-chain and off-chain settlement systems that enable reliable, high-throughput movement of digital dollars across blockchain and traditional financial rails.
  • Partner closely with engineering to drive core architectural decisions and guide long-term infrastructure investments.
  • Engage with risk, compliance, and security teams to align platform capabilities with regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC/AML, travel rule).
  • Collaborate with internal crypto product teams to ensure platform solutions unlock new product opportunities.
  • Design funds-flow controls, transaction limits, and circuit breakers to support safe operation under normal and stressed conditions.
  • Define success metrics and rigorously measure performance, efficiency, and system health.
  • Lead complex build-vs-buy evaluations, including vendor assessments for custody and blockchain infrastructure.
  • Stay current with emerging crypto technologies, protocols, custody models, and regulatory changes that may impact platform strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of complex financial or infrastructure products operating at scale.
  • Proven track record launching, or operating stablecoins or asset-backed digital currencies, including hands-on involvement in issuance, redemption, or on-chain value transfer.
  • Strong technical fluency across distributed systems, APIs, and blockchain-based transaction flows, with the ability to engage deeply in architecture and design discussions with engineering.
  • Experience defining and managing mint/burn controls, funds-flow rules, transaction limits, and operational safeguards for digital money products.
  • Experience partnering with engineering to navigate architecture decisions and technical trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance long-term platform investments with near-term delivery needs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, security, compliance, legal, and analytics.
  • Strong judgment balancing regulatory rigor, system reliability, and product velocity in ambiguous and high-stakes environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical complexity for diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience around launching/operating a Stablecoin, 3rd party integrations with custodians, liquidity providers, trade aggregators, knowledge of both retail and institutional trading, knowledge of secured lending.
  • Experience with crypto infrastructure products such as custody, wallets, or blockchain nodes.
  • Familiarity with crypto-specific regulatory frameworks (KYC/AML, custody rules, travel rule).
  • Background working in fintech, payments infrastructure, or digital asset companies.
  • Passionate about leveraging crypto and DeFi technologies to modernize and expand the capabilities of traditional finance.
