The Role:
We’re seeking a Staff Technical Project Manager, ITAM to join our growing IT team and play a pivotal role in supporting and executing our enterprise-wide IT Asset Management (ITAM) initiatives. This role is designed for someone who thrives in tactical execution and can effectively translate strategic direction into clear, actionable project deliverables.
Reporting to the IT Asset Management Program owner, this role will focus on turning high-level ITAM strategies into executable plans by partnering with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. While this individual will not be accountable for defining the overall ITAM strategy, they will ensure that the implementation of that strategy is carried out efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with program goals.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the IT Asset Management Program owner to develop, understand, and operationalize the ITAM strategy.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of ITAM-related initiatives and projects, including planning, milestone creation, dependency tracking, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, status reports, and documentation across ITAM workstreams.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams—including infrastructure, procurement, finance, compliance, security, and software engineering—to ensure timely execution of ITAM deliverables.
- Serve as a translator between the strategic vision and technical execution, ensuring that engineering and operational teams have clear and actionable requirements.
- Track project KPIs, ensuring all tasks and deliverables meet established timelines and quality standards.
- Drive day-to-day execution of ITAM program initiatives, removing blockers and managing priorities in collaboration with the ITAM Lead.
- Support change management and communications efforts as part of ITAM rollouts or process changes.
- Help ensure alignment of asset data and governance practices with regulatory, security, and operational policies.
- Facilitate regular check-ins, retrospectives, and stakeholder updates on project progress and challenges.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IT project/program management or technical program management roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) concepts, systems, frameworks and best practices (hardware, software, license tracking, etc.).
- Experience working with or alongside ServiceNow ITAM or CMDB modules.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex strategies into actionable project plans and deliverables.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills—able to clearly convey priorities and technical needs across teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in a highly regulated or enterprise environment (e.g., fintech, healthcare, government).
- Certifications in PMP, Scrum, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
What You'll Bring
- A hands-on, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for bringing order and momentum to complex technical projects.
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment where cross-functional coordination and communication are key.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability—you follow through and help unblock teams to drive progress.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
