The role:
The role of Treasury ALM Senior Associate reports to the Senior Director of Treasury ALM and Hedging. The primary responsibility of the role is to support the Treasury department in the management of interest rate risk through the production, analysis, and reporting of key metrics including Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE). The role will collaborate and work closely with Business Units, Capital Markets, and Finance teams.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with the Business Units, Finance, and Capital Markets teams to drive strategic projects, lead ALCO initiatives, and support a best-in-class ALM framework
Identify, analyze, and monitor the interest rate risk position of the Bank’s balance sheet through Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) simulations, balance sheet gaps, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing analysis.
Monitor the performance of the ALM model by conducting sensitivity testing of model assumptions, and liaising with Risk, Product, and Pricing teams as appropriate
Assist in analyzing and decomposing the deposit book with a focus on liquidity and interest rate sensitivity.
Document and maintain procedures to serve as reference of processes completed in building the forecasted balance sheet, calibrating model assumptions, and embedding controls
Develop and automate management / ALCO reporting packages for ALM and market risk metrics
Formulate recommendations and lead discussions to enhance the firm's ALM and Market Risk / Hedging strategies
Optimize balance sheet management, ROE, net interest margin, and capital allocation using the firm's tools and resources.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree with coursework and proven proficiency in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related field or equivalent work experience in related fields.
2+ years work experience with a bank, asset manager, or similar financial institution preferably with fixed-income trading and/or risk management experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, good commercial judgment
Ability and willingness to learn and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work on multiple projects with a high attention to detail.
Ability to meet tight timelines and prioritize workloads
