What you’ll do:

  • Become a Student Loan Regulations subject matter expert, understand all relevant regulations and risks involved with the business line

  • Partner with key stakeholders, including the in-house Legal team and Business Unit, to ensure proposed marketing campaigns are compliant and approved prior to use

  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing team throughout the campaign development process, providing guidance on branding standards, regulations, and legal disclosures to ensure SoFi’s marketing remains within SoFi’s risk appetite and is in alignment with regulatory expectations

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of consumer lending and deposit products paired with marketing regulations and industry guidance, including Regulation Z - Closed End, Fair Lending, UDAAP, and the FTC’s .com manual to develop internal guidelines

  • Within service level agreements, conduct thorough reviews of all marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and secure necessary approvals

  • As needed, design and conduct training sessions for marketing colleagues, focusing on education of compliance requirements and SoFi’s marketing review process

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in financial services, with a preferred background in legal, compliance, marketing, or a related field

  • A degree from an accredited university or significant relevant experience demonstrating your understanding of marketing compliance in the financial sector

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining a sharp focus on compliance standards

  • Attention to detail required

  • Ability to focus under pressure and prioritize when faced with competing priorities

  • Proven expertise in developing and fostering cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders to collaborate effectively

  • Ability to articulate complex opinions and requirements in a simple and understandable way

  • Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule (including nights and weekends) as business needs dictate

Nice to have:

  • A compliance background or prior experience working in a Compliance role within the financial industry

  • An understanding of general banking regulations, particularly with a focus on lending requirements

  • A strong desire to develop practical, creative solutions that meet business needs while remaining compliant with laws and regulations

  • Series 24 license a plus

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
