This pivotal role reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with the Chief Product Officer and Head of Engineering. The ideal candidate will champion the company's Science and Technology vision, steering the selection of cutting-edge technologies and architectures while spearheading research, development, and intellectual property initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Visionary
● Strategic Technological Leadership: Drive the selection and implementation of innovative technologies and architectures in alignment with the company's long-term vision.
● Pioneering Initiatives: Spearhead groundbreaking initiatives to extend and fortify Simulmedia's patented TV+ technology, ensuring it remains at the forefront of advertising innovation.
2. Research & Development Leadership
● Innovative Research: Lead research endeavors aimed at enhancing advertising outcomes across diverse platforms including streaming, linear TV, video games, and major tech ecosystems.
● Intellectual Property Development: Direct the development of intellectual property, safeguarding and expanding the company's patent portfolio.
3. Global Science Organization Leadership
● Team Leadership: Lead a global team of scientists, engineers, and tech experts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
● Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment of the global science organization's efforts with the company's overarching goals and values.
4. Advancing Advertising Technology
● Optimization Strategies: Drive initiatives to optimize advertiser outcomes by leveraging Simulmedia's patented software platform.
● Cross-Platform Expertise: Extend the platform's capabilities to encompass various platforms, including streaming, linear TV, video games, and tech walled gardens.
Qualifications:
● Education & Experience: A robust educational background in science, software, and/or engineering, coupled with a minimum of ten years in technology, science, or engineering roles, ideally within smaller technology companies.
● Digital Advertising Technology: At least 5 years of hands-on experience specifically within digital advertising technology, demonstrating a deep understanding of its nuances and challenges.
● Hands-On Expertise: Must be hands-on when it comes to software and data architecture, science, and working with teams, actively contributing as a doer alongside leading.
● Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience leading software development, science, and/or engineering teams, showcasing strong managerial skills and a strategic approach.
● Industry Representation: Proficiency in representing companies and technologies in external activities, such as industry groups, conferences, and partner/customer engagements.
● Evangelization Skills: Ability to evangelize products and technologies effectively with partners, customers, and market influencers.

We're required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances of each case, but a reasonable estimate of the current base range for this role is $250,000 - $300,000. Note that this range is specific to national metro areas and that offers take into account a wide variety of potential factors considered in compensation, including but not limited to skill, qualifications, accomplishments, experience, credentials, and business needs.
