Simulmedia, a leading 14-year-old software company based in New York City, is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a rapidly growing, profitable, and debt-free company, Simulmedia is at the forefront of revolutionizing the advertising industry with its TV+ platform that enables advertisers and agencies to target and optimize video brand advertising across all major streaming, linear and video game channels. More than 100 brands and agencies use TV+ today.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses an MBA and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in finance, investment banking, and/or corporate development, with a strong background in start-ups, technology companies, and the advertising industry. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial strategy, planning, and corporate development to propel Simulmedia to new heights. Reporting directly to the CEO (the company's founder, chairman, and a seasoned entrepreneur), the CFO will lead a 5-person finance team and contribute significantly to the company's continued success.
Responsibilities:
● Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Simulmedia's long-term goals and vision. Collaborate closely with the CEO to provide financial insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
● Planning and Forecasting: Lead the financial planning and forecasting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
● Corporate Development: Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities. Conduct due diligence, negotiate deals, and provide expert financial guidance to support strategic expansion initiatives.
● Risk Management: Oversee the company's risk management framework, identifying and mitigating financial risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
● Financial Reporting: Present financial reports and analysis to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors. Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with accounting principles and standards.
● Budget Management: Oversee the budgeting process and work closely with department heads to optimize spending, allocate resources effectively, and achieve financial targets.
● Funding and Investor Relations: Collaborate with the CEO in fundraising efforts, maintain positive relationships with investors, and communicate the company's financial performance and growth prospects to stakeholders.
● Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment. Develop talent within the team and ensure continuous growth and professional development.
● Attend and collaborate in onsite, in-person meetings on a regular daily basis
Qualifications:
● MBA in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
● Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance, investment banking, and/or corporate development.
● Proven track record in driving financial strategy and planning within fast-paced start-ups, technology companies, and the advertising industry.
● Strong background in corporate development and M&A, with successful deal execution and integration experience.
● Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
● Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in leading and motivating teams.
● Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.

We're required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances of each case, but a reasonable estimate of the current base range for this role is $225,000 - $325,000. Note that this range is specific to national metro areas and that offers take into account a wide variety of potential factors considered in compensation, including but not limited to skill, qualifications, accomplishments, experience, credentials, and business needs.
