The Role
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) role is focused on building and growing deep, consultative partnerships with Simon’s clients. Acting as the primary relationship owner, you will engage senior stakeholders to align on business objectives, advocate for their needs within Simon, and ensure our solutions deliver measurable impact. By fostering trust and credibility, you will position Simon as a long-term strategic partner that drives sustained business value.
As a SAM, you will take ownership of strategic planning and growth for your accounts, developing tailored account strategies that connect client goals with Simon’s offerings. You will identify opportunities to expand partnerships, anticipate risks, and guide clients through evolving challenges in their business and competitive landscape. In this role, you will influence outcomes by leading high-level planning discussions, providing thought leadership, and ensuring Simon’s solutions drive meaningful results.
You will also be accountable for cross-functional alignment, working with internal sales, product, technical account managers, and marketing teams to deliver a cohesive client experience. By overseeing contract negotiations, guiding renewals and expansions, and maintaining accurate reporting and forecasts, you will ensure both client satisfaction and company growth. Ultimately, the SAM role is about translating strategy into action and helping clients achieve their objectives while strengthening Simon’s position as a trusted partner.
What You'll Do
Lead and grow a portfolio of 8–20 client accounts.
Develop comprehensive, AI-driven account strategies that drive meaningful business value for clients and strengthen Simon’s stickiness and account expansion opportunities.
Cultivate deep client partnerships through thoughtful and ongoing discovery of business problems and consistent delivery of value against priority challenges.
Become the primary expert on each client’s business, enabling you to guide decisions in executive / C-level conversations internally at Simon and externally with clients. Maintain awareness of any relevant news or market activity affecting your clients.
Proactively identify risks at the earliest stages and develop detailed mitigation plans.
Partner closely with each client’s Technical Account Manager (TAM) to ensure current work aligns with broader business goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering to prioritize client needs.
Ensure clients realize measurable ROI from the Simon platform through proper alignment, goal setting, and value demonstration.
Plan and lead Executive Business Reviews across your portfolio.
Travel as needed to conferences, company offsites, and client offices.
Map and engage business stakeholders to ensure strong alignment across client teams and maintain multiple executive relationships for Simon’s C-suite.
Lead contract renewals and upsell discussions in partnership with the Simon Finance team.
Qualifications
7-10 years of professional experience, with 5+ years managing client relationships at a SaaS, MarTech, CDP or AI Company
Bachelor's degree
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High emotional intelligence
Deep intuition for business
Experience with AI, email marketing, push or SMS software
Proven problem solver
Ability to thrive in an unstructured and fast-paced environment
Personable, collaborative, and a sense of humor
Willingness to travel up to 30%

In compliance with the state and city salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $110,000 to $130,000 which represents a range commensurate with experience.
