Shopify’s Social Media team, part of our broader Brand & Audience Expansion team, executes clear communications and engaging experiences, while blazing the trail for an innovative user experience, for our millions of merchants and followers across social channels and digital platforms every day.
As a Producer on the Social Media Team, focused on owned social, you’ll create original content that appears on Shopify — and in some cases, spokesperson — social channels. You’ll bring channel management and production expertise to a highly collaborative and creative group of marketers. You’ll conceptualize and create content that engages and inspires entrepreneurs building their businesses on Shopify, bringing brand campaigns and product launches to life across a variety of platforms, including Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
This is a senior Individual Contributor (IC) position and will not include direct people management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Produce content and creative that drive affinity and engagement with Shopify’s brand and product
Connect Shopify narratives to relevant moments and conversations in the culture, exhibiting good judgment and experimenting often
Build and iterate on strategies for primary channels (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok), including developing and pitching evergreen content
Drive cross functional coordination, influencing others without authority to adopt your ideas and strategies, owning the creative aim through to execution
Use AI tools like ChatGPT and Descript to keep creative workflow efficient
Manage time and effort effectively while owning multiple creative assets simultaneously
Treat the project brief as the minimum floor, setting ambitious aims and exploring ideas that raise the bar, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for Social, Brand & Marketing
Generate a lot of ideas quickly, iterate often, seeking and offering constructive critique
Know how to predict and assess the impact of your work; own regular reporting cadence, including monthly recaps and campaign wrap reports
Reflect Shopify’s values, tone and voice in all output, with a deep understanding of the merchant & aspiring entrepreneur audience and their unique needs
Qualifications
Relevant experience in Social or Brand Marketing, bonus if you have experience creating content for a B2B or tech brand with more than 100K+ followers
Thorough understanding of social media best practices, with an ability to adapt narratives and design creative treatments aligned to evolving platforms and their latest best practices
Familiarity with creative production tools (e.g Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Descript) and in-app editing tools on Instagram and TikTok
Ability to measure and analyze the performance of social content using in-channel and third-party social listening tools, and synthesize this information for non-Social audiences
Exceptional communication, presentation and storytelling skills, with an ability to communicate trade-offs and results
Obsessed with honing your craft and driving impact for Shopify, being self-reliant and doing it yourself, first
Demonstrated passion for memes, social platforms, innovative digital experiences
