As Category Buyer iWX Maintenance, you will be responsible, for the category of spend assigned, for implementing sourcing strategies (stand Alone vs. iWX) according to category management strategies and leading sourcing activities across all business units at global level.

This role plays a critical part in driving the success of Sanofi’s global iWX program by leading strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management across both hard and soft services. The Global Lead Buyer will partner closely with internal business teams to support operational and transformation objectives, define project scopes, and lead strategic negotiations with key suppliers. The position requires coordination across a large international network—including regional leads, maintenance SMEs, and site procurement teams—to ensure consistency and alignment in service delivery. A key focus will be on portfolio standardization, supply chain evolution, and performance governance, with direct engagement of senior stakeholders to support Sanofi’s long-term facility management strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic sourcing activities across the full scope of hard and soft services within the global iWX program, covering 117 sites across M&S, R&D, and Tertiary domains.

  • Develop and present procurement strategies to senior internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and transformation goals.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of global supply chain trends, industry benchmarks, and emerging innovations to inform strategic decisions.

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that drive efficiency, value creation, and operational excellence.

  • Translate and communicate the vision and strategic goals of the Procurement function across the organization.

  • Ensure execution and operational follow-up of action plans derived from the iWX strategy, in close collaboration with global and regional procurement networks.

  • Define and execute sourcing strategies in partnership with the Global Lead Buyer, with a focus on value delivery and supplier performance.

  • Coordinate with Country Procurement Heads (CPH) and Procurement Site Leads (PSL) to ensure consistent local implementation of global strategies.

  • Deliver a robust savings pipeline in line with contractual commitments and program targets.

  • Support scope evolution discussions with cross-functional procurement teams (MRO, PS Domain, etc.) to ensure strategic alignment.

  • Provide comprehensive reporting on status, savings, performance, and risks across the iWX program and facility management categories.

  • Act as a change agent, driving innovation and leveraging Sanofi’s global footprint to enhance supplier capabilities and service delivery.

  • Benchmark against leading practices across industries to continuously elevate procurement standards.

  • Lead and animate business reviews with maintenance SMEs, covering innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, and quality.

  • Collaborate with Global Security to define and integrate security standards into facility management processes.

  • Partner with Procurement Services to maximize synergies with Business Operations Services.

  • Manage and resolve strategic and operational issues with iWX partners, ensuring continuity and performance.

About You

Experience:

  • 2/3 years' experience in Indirect Procurement in industrial environment

Soft and technical skills

  • Technical knowledge of Preventive and Reactive maintenance techniques.

  • Results oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, notably on large data sets

  • Knowledge of SAP MM module and any CMMS tool

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of Pharma GMP work environment

  • Good understanding of finance and legal aspects

  • Flexible, receptive, resourceful, creative, and results oriented

  • Proven project management

  • Technical and commercial Negotiation

  • Communication skills: Assertiveness, ability to convince/influence others and excellent presentation skills

  • Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills

  • Readily adapts to new environment, processes, ways of working

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal sensitivity

  • Role model in compliance and ethics

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or another relevant field.

The salary range for this position is:

$123,750.00 - $178,750.00
