The Lead Wastewater Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and compliance of the facility’s wastewater treatment systems. This role ensures all activities align with regulatory standards and internal procedures, while providing leadership and guidance to the wastewater team and contractor.

Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of wastewater technicians and contractors.
- Monitor and maintain proper operation of pumps, valves, tanks, and treatment systems (e.g., pH neutralization, filtration, chemical dosing).
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including reporting and sampling requirements.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs of equipment and systems as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of system performance, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Support capital projects and system upgrades as needed.
- Coordinate with EHS and Facilities teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Serve as the point of contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries related to wastewater.
About You
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or technical degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment
- State-issued Wastewater Operator Certification
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, regulatory requirements, and industrial systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, mechanical, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with CMMS and digital documentation tools.
- 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- State-issued Wastewater Operator Certification Grade 3 Or Higher

The salary range for this position is:
