About the Job
Reporting to the Global Head New Product Planning, Immunology, the Director of NPP Immunology will play a critical role in the future growth of the franchise. In particular, he/she will (1) leverage his/her deep understanding of global markets to inform the commercial strategy and brand development for internal Immunology & Inflammation R&D pipeline drug candidates from preclinical through proof of concept; (2) support growth via external innovation by leading the commercial assessment of external opportunities (In-licensing, collaborations, M&A) , and (3) work closely with Immunology senior management to support the development and articulation of the Therapy Area (TA) and portfolio strategy.
The Director of NPP Immunology will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leaders across the organization including research, clinical development, regulatory, commercial, portfolio decision resources and business development. In particular, he/she will closely collaborate with our partners in Market Access, Health Economics, Forecasting, Market Research, and Competitive Intelligence to deliver commercial assessments and strategies.
The position is based in Cambridge, MA unless otherwise agreed to by the Global Head of NPP.

Main Responsibilities:
As a core member of the Global Project Team (GPT), provide commercial inputs to effectively develop and commercialize drug candidates; support the team in preparing stage-gate decisions and presentations to key internal governance committees (Franchise leadership, Research and Development governance, and investment committees).
Conduct research to understand current and future disease epidemiology, market dynamics, patient segmentation, treatment paradigm, patient journey, unmet medical needs, competition, market access and pricing environment; lead the development of target product profiles (TPP), brand positioning, partner with Market Access to define the value proposition and pricing assumptions; develop forecasting assumptions and revenues projections in close collaborating with the Forecasting team.
Generate required data and insights to support robust commercial assessments. Liaise extensively with internal and external experts to evaluate products, pathways, and treatment approaches. Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable strategies for each asset in development, including requirements for regulatory submission, market access, and differentiation.
Provide key insights into the Integrated Development Plan assembled by the GPT
Support and lead commercial assessments of external opportunities (Business Development, M&A) via due diligence and business case development
Support the development and articulation of the Therapy Area (TA) and Franchise strategy through the Disease Area Strategy (DAS) annual process.
Drive the commercial assessment of the annual Portfolio Review (PFR) process on relevant assets, support the technical and financial assessments.

About You
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required (MBA, MS or PhD in life science preferred) 7+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with 3 to 5 years new product planning, or consulting experience in biopharmaceutical industry.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, planning, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Driven and result-oriented; Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work with a sense of urgency
Demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment with many cross-functional partners
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adjust to changing priorities
Experienced or be familiar with the process of drug development from discovery research to commercialization
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize and deliver a clear overview of the strategy, opportunity and risks for Sanofi executives
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally

The salary range for this position is:
$202,500.00 - $292,500.00All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
