Job Description

The Supplier Project Management & Quality Engineer (SPQE) plays a dual role in managing supplier-related projects and ensuring adherence to Safran's quality standards. This role focuses on coordinating supplier activities, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvements in quality and operational performance. The SPQE works collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to align on project goals and ensure the success of industrial and quality initiatives.

This position reports to the Supplier Management Team Lead within the Supply Chain division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a project manager for supplier-related initiatives, ensuring alignment on timelines, deliverables, and quality requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of strategies for supplier improvements, addressing both operational and quality challenges.
• Collaborate with suppliers and Safran teams (purchasing, supply chain, engineering) to ensure successful execution of projects and compliance with Safran standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning for supplier projects, focusing on maintaining quality and operational continuity.
• Conduct supplier audits to evaluate process capabilities, compliance, and readiness for new or ongoing projects.
• Oversee key project milestones such as First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure completion of qualification files in line with Safran requirements.
• Communicate quality management system requirements and other regulatory obligations (FAA/EASA/CAAC Regulations, AS9100) to suppliers and ensure adherence.
• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes, integrating quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Ensure appropriate production methods, measurement techniques, and equipment are used to meet Safran standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in supplier project management, including planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and tools, such as Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, PFMEA, and 8D problem-solving.
• Ability to conduct supplier audits and facilitate compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and escalate issues when necessary.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• A proactive and adaptable mindset to navigate dynamic environments and drive results.
• Excellent problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills required with thorough working knowledge of Quality systems methods and practices.
