Position Title: Lead Dynamic FEA Engineer

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A) Oversee/monitor all design validation activity with respect to applicable requirements utilizing analytical process and testing as necessary.
B) Analyze design and test data to implement proper engineering approach into a design.
C) Utilize FEA to accomplish objective(s).
D) Implement analytical approach and help DV staff in establishing decent correlation with test data.
E) Perform necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and dynamic simulation.
F) Mentor the Design Validation Engineers and mold them per department requirement.
G) Work with design and certification engineers as well as with test laboratory to provide robust designs.
H) Work closely with research and development department for future innovations.
I) Comply with Safran Seats USA procedures (QAP) and certification internal procedures.
J) Document all design validation work (including FEA) and maintain all material database.
K) Participate and support in new business development initiatives.
L) Provide leadership and technical guidance to Design Validation Engineers and establish best practices.
M) Ensure quality of model and analysis and on time completion.
N) Ensure that FEA models and simulations comply with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements.
O) Analyze and interpret FEA results to identify potential design flaws, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and validate model with test and establish correlation.
P) Develop and implement appropriate modeling techniques, boundary conditions, and material properties to accurately simulate real-world dynamic scenarios with no supervision.
Q) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of design guidelines, testing protocols, and validation procedures.
R) Collaborate with other business unit's simulation and engineering teams towards FEA process and procedure improvements.
S) Generate, review, and check comprehensive technical reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications required.
T) Stay updated on the latest advancements in dynamic FEA methodologies, tools, and techniques, and apply them to enhance analysis capabilities and efficiency.
U) Maintain work load capacity for the design validation group.
V) Provide status and schedule updates to department head and other appropriate entities on a regular basis.
W) Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or a directly related field, plus the following experience:
1. 6 years of FEA related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss;
2. 6 years of experience using Altair HyperWorks suite or ANSYS;
3. 6 years of experience in basic structural engineering, including free body diagrams and strength of materials;
4. 6 years of combined experience in the understanding and application of finite element analysis and fatigue methods;
5. 6 years of experience in seat belt modeling;
6. 6 years of experience with the kinematics of hybrid II/III dummy model;
7. 6 years of experience communicating efficiently in writing and verbal;
8. 6 years of experience operating standard office equipment;
9. 6 years of experience generating technical reports;
10. 6 years of combined experience using communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as other business units and present analysis findings to stakeholders.
• Experience may be gained concurrently.
• Work location: Hybrid with 2 days a week remote available, other workdays onsite at the Gainesville, TX office. Must reside within commuting distance from employer's Gainesville, TX office.
• Requires less than 1 week per year of international and/or domestic travel to other company worksite locations and third-party test labs as needed to meet program objectives.
In lieu of the above, the employer will accept the following:
• Requires a Master degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or a directly related field of study, plus the following experience:
