As Regulatory Counsel, you will advise business and legal teams on existing and emerging laws and support regulatory engagement across a wide range of subject matters, including online safety, youth protection, and AI.
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory & International Legal, Americas, this role will have a global remit, requiring the ideal candidate to be proactive, a quick learner, and comfortable with complex and evolving legal requirements across multiple regions. This is an opportunity to join a growing legal team, learn about exciting new technologies and business models, and work on novel legal issues.
You will:
- Evaluate and advise on existing, pending, and developing regulations across a variety of subject matters;
- Advise and support on multi-stakeholder regulatory compliance strategies;
- Identify and educate colleagues on new legislative and regulatory trends affecting Roblox;
- Respond to requests for advice from cross-functional teams as needed; and
- Support regulatory engagement activities.
You have:
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience;
- License to practice law in a US jurisdiction;
- Experience working on tech policy, social media, intermediary liability, trust & safety, AI, content or gaming matters;
- Experience tracking and analyzing regulatory proposals;
- Experience navigating regulatory frameworks outside the US.
- Strong critical judgment and analytical skills with the ability to propose solutions and translate your legal analysis into practical advice, taking into account the needs and objectives of the business;
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
- The ability to handle a diverse and complex workload; and
- The ability to work collaboratively within a small, tightly-knit team.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
