Senior Program Manager, Tech (Data Governance, Security and Privacy) Job Description

About the team + role

Robinhood is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Program Manager with a passion for privacy and security to join our team. This role is designed to support our Data Governance & Safety team, as well as other security teams and initiatives across the organization.

As part of our team, you will work with various departments within Robinhood to ensure our products and services uphold the highest standards of data privacy and security.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of solutions that encompass data governance, privacy, and broader security principles, ensuring they are integral to our operations.
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams—spanning Engineering, Product, Legal, and Compliance—to ensure comprehensive understanding and integration of data governance, privacy, and security measures.
  • Serve as a liaison, fostering communication and understanding between technical and non-technical stakeholders, to facilitate the successful execution of privacy and security initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and aggressive timelines.
  • Champion the advancement of data governance, privacy, and security practices, seeking innovative approaches to enhance our posture.

What you Bring:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in program or project management with exposure to data governance, privacy, and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively influence stakeholders across various levels.
  • A solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and security principles and best practices, including risk management and compliance adherence.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, NIST CSF, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects in dynamic environments.

Although not essential for consideration, the following are also helpful:

  • Privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) or security certifications (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are desirable.
  • A background in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in the finance sector or with portfolio trading systems is beneficial but not required.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
