Overview
The Medical Director, Copy & Content Strategy serves as a core scientific, medical, and editorial expert within CoLab—combining deep therapeutic knowledge with content strategy and content creation excellence. This role ensures that all scientific and healthcare‑related content is accurate, compelling, medically sound, strategically grounded, and aligned with regulatory and brand standards.
As a hybrid medical strategist and content creator, the Medical Director partners with creative, strategy, and account teams to generate insights, guide the development of healthcare professional and consumer‑facing materials, and shape narratives that elevate brand storytelling in scientifically complex categories. This role also collaborates closely with editorial and copy teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and correctness across all deliverables.
Responsibilities
• Lead scientifically complex therapeutic areas, shaping product strategy and informing development of integrated brand programs.
• Conduct research on products, disease states, treatment landscapes, and clinical trends.
• Generate actionable scientific and behavioral insights for creative development and planning.
• Maintain understanding of competitors, including scientific strengths, weaknesses, and emerging data.
• Stay current on medical literature to ensure scientifically accurate content.
• Serve as medical writer and content creator for HCP and patient materials.
• Create, review, and edit content that meets medical‑legal‑regulatory (MLR) standards.
• Collaborate with writers and editors to improve content quality.
• Perform fact‑checking, proofreading, and scientific validation.
• Educate creative, strategy, and planning teams on disease states and product science.
• Ensure medical information is correctly represented in creative storytelling.
• Contribute to new business pitches and present scientific insights.
• Ensure content consistency, completeness, and accuracy across all materials.
Qualifications
• Doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD) or similar healthcare background; clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare agencies, pharma, biotech, or medical communications.
• Strong ability to interpret scientific and medical literature.
• Familiarity with U.S. pharmaceutical marketing regulations and MLR.
• Exceptional scientific writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of AMA Style and experience with scientific content accuracy review preferred.

Compensation Range: $106,780.00 - $170,937.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
