Overview

The Creative Director will provide senior creative leadership for a large, global, multi-brand automotive client, leading a multidisciplinary creative organization of approximately 65 professionals across Costa Rica and Colombia.

This role is responsible for elevating creative quality, strengthening strategic alignment with Onshore partners, and unifying creative vision across channels, brands, and markets. The Creative Director will act as the primary creative authority for LATAM and a key strategic partner to Onshore creative leadership, ensuring consistent standards, seamless collaboration, and best-in-class creative output.

The ideal candidate brings deep market experience, strong people leadership, and broad hands-on knowledge across multiple creative disciplines and delivery models, balancing creative excellence with operational rigor in a high-scale, multi-brand environment.

Preferred Profile

  • Experience working with global automotive or highly regulated, multi-brand industries.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and modern digital production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of creative governance, quality frameworks, and scalable delivery models.
  • Experience operating within nearshore / offshore delivery environments.

Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and steward the creative vision for a global, multi-brand automotive client across LATAM, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation across all touchpoints.
  • Lead conceptual development for integrated campaigns, with strong expertise in Social (campaign conceptualization), CRM (digital and print), 360 content, OLA, and Web Operations.
  • Serve as the main creative point of contact for LATAM, partnering closely with Onshore creative leadership to align strategy, standards, and execution.
  • Champion brand excellence, storytelling, and craft across all creative outputs.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a large, multidisciplinary team including Creative Designers, Art Directors, UX Designers, Copywriters, Motion Designers, Retouchers, Asset Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Build a strong creative culture focused on collaboration, accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee performance management, career development, mentorship, and succession planning for creative talent.
  • Support staffing, resourcing, and workload balancing in partnership with Delivery and Operations leadership.

Cross-Disciplinary Integration

  • Ensure strong integration across creative disciplines, connecting strategy, design, copy, UX, and production into cohesive solutions.
  • Partner with Project Management and Delivery teams to improve workflows, scalability, and efficiency while maintaining high creative standards.
  • Promote collaboration between Costa Rica and Colombia teams, fostering a unified LATAM creative organization.

Stakeholder & Client Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Onshore creative, strategy, and production teams to ensure alignment and consistency across markets.
  • Participate in senior-level creative reviews, presentations, and escalations, representing LATAM creative leadership.
  • Translate complex business and marketing objectives into impactful creative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with North American clients and agency creative, strategy, and production teams to ensure alignment and consistency across markets.

Operational Excellence

  • Support continuous improvement of creative processes, delivery models, and quality controls.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for creative, people, and delivery challenges.
  • Contribute to defining and tracking KPIs related to creative quality, efficiency, and team performance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in creative direction, design, or digital content leadership within agency or large-scale brand environments.
  • Proven experience leading large, distributed creative teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong background across digital and integrated channels, including social, CRM, content, OLA, and web platforms.
  • Deep understanding of creative strategy, brand stewardship, UX/UI principles, and storytelling.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and Onshore leadership in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills with a people-first mindset.
  • Ability to balance creative vision, operational demands, and business priorities in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or above).
