Overview
We are looking for a positive team player who is professional and can manage confidential information with discretion. You will be responsible for various key areas of reporting within both the client and corporate finance functions.
Responsibilities
· Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the company's financial reporting structure (multiple brand entities using DDS, Altaïr/SAP, Blackline) and associated mappings to parent company consolidation and reporting environment (Hyperion/HFM/Smartview)
· Fully responsible for month end close on agency brand(s) financial statements, including proper client revenue recognition, cost accruals, etc.
· Prepare accurate entries and reconciliations of G/L accounts (balance sheet, P&L) along with detailed supporting schedules as part of a timely monthly, quarterly and year end close process
· Collaborate with the corporate finance team members, led by the Corporate Finance VP, in ensuring all period close deliverables and deadlines are met in accordance with Publicis Groupe policies, including submitting financial statements, and preparing detailed variance analysis and commentary
· Review, investigate and correct transactions (system and manual postings) as needed Co-ordinate and prioritize timely and effective responses to auditors’ (external and internal) requests
· Partner with agency brand lead(s) and Finance VP/EVP Finance on annual budget commit and reforecast submissions
· Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting to parent company
· Process mapping and instruction documentation, including process and control improvements Review inter-company mismatches and resolve open items Contribute to creating new reporting methods and analysis as the business changes Advise on areas and opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies
· Ad-Hoc reporting, including support, as needed, for forecasting, historical comparisons, and variance analysis
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting CPA designated, or substantive progression towards CPA designation
· 3-5 years related corporate accounting experience (media/advertising agency, PR firm, or related industry a strong asset)
· Excellent analytical/quantitative skills with great attention to detail
· Strong interpersonal, written communication and organizational skills.
· Strong MS Excel skills required – ability to create and use pivot tables necessary
· SAP knowledge would be an advantage but not necessary
· Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines
· Highly motivated, self-starter, able to multi-task and work well under pressure
