Overview

As Director of Engagement Strategy, you will translate data, behavior, and human insight into connected experiences that inspire action. You’ll serve as the strategic lead across key accounts—crafting engagement ecosystems, shaping compelling narratives, and guiding clients through moments of change with clarity, empathy, and vision.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership

  • Lead engagement strategy for key clients, guiding communications that drive meaningful connection and align with business goals.
  • Advise senior clients with clear, insight‑driven recommendations.
  • Translate behavioral insights and market trends into cohesive engagement strategies.

Integrated, Purpose‑Driven Engagement

  • Build multi‑channel ecosystem strategies and messaging frameworks.
  • Develop activation plans rooted in real audience needs and motivations.
  • Partner with creative, media, experience, advocacy, and scientific teams to deliver human‑centered, measurable impact.

Insights, Analytics & Customer Understanding

  • Create measurement frameworks to clarify performance and inform optimization.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights.
  • Develop personas and customer narratives that guide journey design.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Identify emerging trends and technologies that shape new engagement opportunities.
  • Deliver POVs that help clients navigate change and lead within evolving markets.
  • Support creation of flexible, resilient digital ecosystems for long‑term growth.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor strategists and contribute to CoLab’s culture of agility, creativity, and co‑creation.
  • Facilitate workshops that drive clarity and alignment.
  • Model CoLab’s flexible, collaborative, globally connected way of working.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 6–8+ years of agency experience in engagement, digital, brand, or communications strategy.
  • Strong background in healthcare (pharma, biotech, or wellness) within regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex challenges.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in engagement strategy, journey mapping, and multi‑channel planning.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative insight development.
  • Deep understanding of HCP, patient, and payer audiences.
  • Advanced digital knowledge (CRM, omnichannel, NPP).
  • Strength in UX thinking, narrative design, and behavior‑led communication.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort in a flexible, cloud‑based environment.

Compensation Range: $106,780.00 - $170,937.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
