Overview

The VP, Growth is a senior agency leader responsible for accelerating growth through new business wins, organic account expansion, and strategic partnerships. Sitting at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and agency leadership, this role leads the agency’s growth agenda end-to-end—from identifying opportunity to winning the room and closing the business.

A natural storyteller with strong creative judgment, the VP, Growth is known for writing standout creative briefs, shaping bold agency narratives, and orchestrating compelling new business pitches. They bring clarity to complexity, translate client challenges into inspiring strategic direction, and rally cross-disciplinary teams around ideas that drive real business impact.


Responsibilities

New Business & Agency Growth

  • Own and evolve the agency’s growth strategy in partnership with executive leadership

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue high-value new business opportunities across priority categories

  • Build and manage a robust new business pipeline, balancing inbound opportunities with proactive prospecting

  • Set growth targets, forecast revenue impact, and ensure pursuits are commercially sound

Creative Briefing & Strategic Craft

  • Write and lead best-in-class creative briefs that inspire breakthrough ideas

  • Translate client business problems into sharp, insight-driven strategic platforms

  • Act as the strategic quality bar for all growth-related briefs and pitch work

  • Ensure work balances creative ambition, strategic rigor, and feasibility

Pitches, Storytelling & Winning the Room

  • Lead pitch strategy, narrative development, and overall approach from start to finish

  • Define the “big idea,” agency POV, and go-to-market story for each pursuit

  • Partner with Strategy, Creative, Media, Data, and Tech teams to deliver integrated, persuasive proposals

  • Coach teams for confident, polished presentations—and personally present at senior-level pitches and finals

Client, Market & Industry Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with senior client and prospect stakeholders

  • Stay close to cultural, category, and competitive trends shaping client needs

  • Represent the agency at industry events, awards shows, and thought-leadership forums

  • Contribute ideas and visibility that strengthen the agency’s reputation and profile

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Strategy, Creative, Account, and Operations leaders to ensure growth efforts are scalable and profitable

  • Mentor teams on briefing excellence, strategic thinking, and pitch craft

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance growth culture grounded in curiosity, rigor, and creative ambition

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in a creative agency or closely related environment
  • A proven track record of winning new business and driving sustained agency growth
  • Exceptional ability to write creative briefs and compelling pitch narratives
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, integrated marketing, and creative development
  • Strong executive presence and experience presenting to C-suite and senior client audiences
  • Experience across multiple categories (CPG, financial services, retail, tech, automotive) is an asset

***This role is located in our Toronto office at 111 Queen Street East and requires hybrid in office 3 times/week.


Additional information

Salary
Transparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $175,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
