Overview

We’re looking for a Manager, Commerce Media to help our clients navigate the dynamic, fast-changing retail media landscape. The ideal candidate is a versatile media expert who can leverage his/her deep knowledge of and strong relationships within assigned retailers’ omnichannel media ecosystems to design world-class shopper media strategies that drive conversion and ROI for our clients. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our office in Toronto for a 3x/week hybrid schedule.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop insight-backed media strategies for the agency’s CPG clients at assigned retailers, using our proprietary Marilyn® Predictive Commerce Intelligence platform, historical client data and other relevant tools
  • Advise our teams on best practices for media strategy development, plan building, optimization and measurement
  • Build collaborative relationships with key client stakeholders and partner agencies – working seamlessly throughout campaign development and implementation, resolving any issues, finding synergies, sharing insights across full-funnel media plans, and bringing forward innovation on a regular basis
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders at assigned retailers and key vendors, and establish the company and its clients as best-in-class partners (e.g. securing first-look access to beta and test and learn opportunities)
  • Keep up to date with and vet emerging platforms, shopper media vendors and innovation trends specific to assigned retailers, and regularly share new opportunities with our clients
  • Collaborate with the Media Activation and Retail Consultancy teams to oversee the execution and optimization of all media plans, ensuring they are on-budget, on-time and meeting desired performance benchmarks
  • Develop POVs for our clients on the value of different media vehicles to share learnings and best practices, and define and track performance of retailer vehicles generally (e.g. on-site display, loyalty programs/emails, in-store radio, sampling)
  • Partner with the National Media Team to share learnings and best practices, and define and track performance of national vs. retailer vehicles
  • Help define and continuously improve our media strategy product and service offerings

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Experience doing shopper/retail media strategy at an agency, retailer media network or CPG manufacturer
  • Knowledge of self- and managed-service retail search strategy and execution (Criteo, CitrusAd, Pacvue, Kenshoo, Google, etc.)
  • Strong existing relationships with key personnel at assigned retailer and/or key vendors is a plus, but not required
  • Ambitious self-starter who takes ownership of and great pride in their work
  • Passion for and strong knowledge of all elements of the retail and omnichannel media landscape
  • Creative and strategic thinker who gets excited about taking on and solving complex challenges
  • Curious and dissatisfied with the status quo, always thinking of ways to improve and grow
  • Collaborative team player and great listener, but unafraid to challenge peers or clients when necessary in order to achieve the best results for the project
  • Confident presenter and clear, persuasive communicator (verbal and written) of complicated information
  • Doer (v. a talker) with a “roll up your sleeves and figure it out” mentality.
  • Adept at analyzing results, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable recommendations; experience using tools & platforms such as Simmons, MRI, Kantar or equivalent preferred
