Overview
As Director Content Strategy, you provide support by understanding, applying and disseminating content best practices as part of a larger, cross-functional team. You collaborate closely with the Creative, UX, strategy, SEO and analytics teams to understand and help support client objectives and user requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform content audits and competitive assessments to assess content, determine best-in-class practices and inform future state requirements
Review site performance and SEO/AEO data insights to inform content recommendations
Provide high-level content strategy and branded experience recommendations that help clients and their users achieve their goals based on information obtained through site audits, competitive assessments, user testing, and site metrics
Create or review site structure and nomenclature for the most intuitive presentation of content
Taxonomy and tagging recommendations
Content model and matrix development, including mapping content requirements for page types, personalization and intelligent content solutions
Define content types required for the new site experience
Assess existing content to determine quality, consistency, relevancy, utility and perform a Keep/Kill/Revise audit to inform content migration
Develop content migration strategy and matrix
Generate or maintain an inventory/matrix of all site content, including related assets
Develop a content playbook and governance guidelines documenting the content strategy and how the site should be maintained, updated, and localized across markets
Managing junior content strategist(s) as needed
General skills for potential future content strategy needs:
Develop content strategy, planning and POVs for best practice .com experiences
Research audience insights and trends to develop consumer-centric content plans across the pre- to post-purchase CEJ throughout the .com experience
Develop Consumer Experience Journey content paths, requirements and content plans to inform UX and wireframes for required page types
Establish criteria and maintain editorial standards and accuracy/quality of content
Create and/or maintain an editorial calendar to align site releases with product launches, seasonal promotions, and more as required
Develop documentation for content migration and content production
Develop creative briefs to inform UX and content creation
Create content strategy playbooks and governance guidelines
Leverage AI tools and agents to streamline workload
Manage junior content strategists, delegating, supervising and mentoring as necessary
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in digital content strategy, some in an agency/consulting environment
Client-facing C-Suite written and oral presentation experience
Experience and comfort using AI tools and agents, and learning and adopting new tools
Experience working with SEO, UX, creative and strategy teams to develop best-in-class content strategy
Experience working on B2B and B2C e-commerce content
Experience working with and expert knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager or similar CMS and DAM
Excellent AI prompting, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Figma, Mural, editing and proofreading skills
Comfort learning new tools and exploring new innovations in AI, digital platforms and technology
Experience with automotive vertical a plus
Highly collaborative self-starter comfortable making decisions, identifying what activities and deliverable are required to achieve project goals, and prioritizing tasks
Demonstrates accountability, adaptability and resilience, with proactive, can-do, hands-on approach to problem solving
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently delivers high quality work within compressed deadlines

Compensation Range: $76 - $109 per hour. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
