Overview
The R2R Senior Accountant Associate is responsible for supporting the accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with internal and external requirements. Key responsibilities include the preparation
and posting of journal entries, reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, month-end and year-end closing activities, and assistance in the preparation of financial statements and audit documentation. The role also involves managing intercompany transactions, ensuring adherence to accounting policies, and providing accounting support to internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a process expert: resolving complex accounting and technical issues, delivering advanced support to supervisors and senior team members, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle.
- Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives: identifying inefficiencies, proposing sustainable solutions, and implementing enhancements using best practices, root-cause analysis, standardization, and automation tools such as RPA or workflow systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements: including adherence to corporate policies, SOX controls, and audit guidelines, while preparing, reviewing, and validating financial transactions and reports.
- Lead or support onboarding and training efforts: new team members by developing training materials, facilitating knowledge-transfer sessions, and reinforcing standardized procedures to promote consistency and operational excellence.
- Participate in cross-functional and organizational initiatives: including system migrations, ERP upgrades or implementations, transformation programs, and global or regional financial support activities, contributing subject-matter expertise to ensure successful execution.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities: preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing variances, and ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate closely with intercompany, Procure-to-Pay (PTP), and Order-to-Cash (OTC) teams: ensure seamless resolution of cross-functional accounting issues, maintain data integrity, and improve end-to-end process alignment.
Qualifications
- Advanced university studies (90% progress) or Bachelor degree related to Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
- Advanced English level B2/C1 (oral & written skills).
- At least 5 years of experience related to the accounting cycle, intercompany processes and month-end closing, preparation of financial reports, preparation and review of accounting entries.
- Excel knowledge.
