How You'll Make an Impact
The Campaign Architect leads all aspects of the technical and strategic tasks for a group of clients applying marketing automation tools and associated solutions. As a domain expert with hands-on experience in marketing automation and artificial intelligence–enhanced solutions, you are viewed as the go-to person on most topics. Proficiency in managing and improving marketing automation systems is crucial. You will lead the way in developing and implementing brand new marketing automation solutions powered by GenAI for our clientele.
Crafting an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and collaboration is key in this position. You must have a strong inclination towards documenting and sharing AI-focused use cases, establishing AI-driven standards, and building a robust long-term knowledge base. With your insight on AI and technical topics, you'll be instrumental in honing the skills of technical leads and junior members while ensuring consistency and efficiency in our AI-enhanced solution developments. Collaboration with project managers, developers, and sales teams is critical.
Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be confident in resolving conflicts with a win-win mindset—both internally and externally on the client side.
What You'll Achieve
- Lead the design and implementation of marketing automation platform solutions for our clients, delivering premier, creative, complex, high-volume, high-visibility, enterprise-scale projects.
- Provide technical leadership to support delivery managers responsible for implementations and projects ranging from 6 months to two years within an expanding professional services group.
- Ensure that the system accurately meets defined business expectations, that proper testing is implemented, and that performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with project teams.
- Identify and confirm technical design risks and develop mitigating approaches.
- Provide level-of-effort estimates for the technical portion of solutions.
- Lead development resources tasked with building middleware between solutions, custom scripting, custom application development, and architectural planning for integrating multiple platforms.
- Establish and evolve guidelines for development efforts within marketing automation platforms.
- Provide leadership and guidance on all technical aspects of marketing automation platforms.
- Assemble standardized work packages including requirements, specifications, and high-level design and architectural direction.
- Iterate as needed so the team has all of the information required to take independent ownership of the work through the development cycle.
- Once work is completed and returned, ensure that it aligns with the requirements and directions provided.
- Manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Who You Are
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of proven experience developing and successfully deploying software programs/applications.
- 5+ years’ experience in an architect role.
- Solid breadth of Analytics & MarTech knowledge (marketing automation, email marketing, personalization, optimization, and marketing analytics).
- Experience with marketing automation platform design, implementation, and execution (Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, Acoustic, etc.).
- Experience in algorithmic decisioning or interactive management.
- Experience in a consulting environment and/or digital agency with demonstrated creativity, innovation, and progression of responsibility.
- Experience across other digital marketing channels: ads, SMS, mobile apps, and web.
- Experience with customer data management (data warehouse, data lakes, CDP, etc.) technologies.
- Solid grasp of HTML, JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, Flutter, Backbone, etc.), AMPscript, and SQL, including knowledge of when to use each; familiarity with AI integration within these technologies.
- Experience building or working with Postman and APIs.
- Proficiency in a back-end language that follows an object-oriented approach (e.g., Java, C#, .Net, etc.).
- Proficiency in using a web analytics platform (like Adobe, Google, etc.) is a positive attribute.
- Experience using at least one tag management system (DTM, GTM, Tealium) a plus.
- Experience with one Customer Data Platform (Salesforce CDP, Adobe Experience Platform, mParticle, Segment, etc.) a plus.
- Experience in API development and AI model deployment using platforms like TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
- Significant experience with project and workflow management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Workfront, Monday, Asana, etc.
- Thorough and a self-starter.
- Track record of learning new technologies quickly.
- Firm belief in employing software development principles and best practices (testability, reusability, traceability, clarity, code commenting, and more).
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Two or more certifications in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Adobe Campaign Developer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Braze Certified Marketer).
