We are seeking a Sr. Data Operations Engineer to manage and enhance our data infrastructure and analytics platforms, mentor offshore support teams, and drive automation and optimization across cloud and database systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in managing relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and analytics tools such as Databricks, Tableau and Alteryx. Experience with Python for automation and data analysis is a plus. A strong background in SQL and database performance tuning is essential.

Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on SQL expertise to guide the team in query optimization, debugging, and solving.
- Support infrastructure solving and performance monitoring across cloud environments (AWS).
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Cloud teams to improve monitoring, alerting, and debugging processes.
- Enhance efficiency in release and workflow management, ensuring Tier II teams are informed about resolutions.
- Serve as a connection between the development and support teams to guarantee product stability and integrate feedback from support.
- Oversee incident triage, prioritization, and resolution in alignment with SLAs and KPIs.
- Identify and automate repetitive or inefficient processes in areas such as user provisioning, client migrations, and backend workflows.
- Improve and support knowledge management systems, including SOPs, documentation, and standard methodologies.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform support, or database administration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for complex querying, performance tuning, and mentoring team members.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience in Databricks operational support, including job monitoring, solving failed pipelines, managing cluster performance, user access provisioning.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira Service Management) and ITIL-based processes for Incident, Change, Problem, and Request Management.
- Solid understanding of Cloud fundamentals ex: AWS (compute, storage, networking), IAM, SSO, MFA, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of security and compliance practices, including IAM, auditing, and policy enforcement.
- Python experience for scripting, automation, or analytical tasks is a plus.

Compensation Range: $87,210.00 - $137,195.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
