Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our internal platforms by delivering actionable insights, managing analytics infrastructure, and enabling data-driven decisions across product, design, and engineering teams. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing analytics strategy, implementing tracking and reporting solutions, and uncovering meaningful patterns in user behavior. You will collaborate with product leads and cross-functional stakeholders to influence roadmap decisions, design and evaluate A/B and multivariate experiments, and support new feature development with well-structured data and clear insights. You will also be responsible for ensuring proper tag implementation, dashboard maintenance, and continuous improvement of our analytics ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Analytics & Insights
Play a critical role in the development and derivation of insights and intelligence across the entire Marcel platform across both web and native mobile
Maintain Marcel site and mobile app analytics including implementation of tags as well as reporting and dashboarding
Liaise with product leads to derive insights across the platform and help inform decisions on product roadmap/feature evolution
Advise on measurement strategy and build measurement frameworks that are aligned to product user journeys
Perform analyses of user data and provide feature teams with an understanding of how users are interacting with their product
Collect requirements from feature teams/product leads and build dashboards in PowerBI/Tableau to help feature teams make data-driven decisions
Responsible for leading the design and development of all key site and mobile app analytics including tag management and reporting/dashboarding
Responsible for the maintenance of dashboards making updates in line with product evolution / new feature releases
Build and document analytics tagging specs across the application so that knowledge and the ability to self-serve in site analytics can be distributed across both technical and non-technical audience
Design and analyze experiments across user experience on the application, as well as over email communications (A/B, multivariate)
Product & Cross-functional Collaboration
Work with external stakeholders to provide support to other areas of the organization
Be able to take tasks that are at times, ambiguous and not so clearly defined, and find the specific requirements by communicating with the appropriate team leads
Approach issues and new feature development with creative solutions
Responsible for establishing best practices and standards
Communication & Reporting
Be able to clearly and concisely communicate to senior leadership the complexities of the models that have been built and how they will be used/impact end users
Be able to clearly explain findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including various Publicis Groupe executive leadership
Technical Development & Engineering
Write maintainable and efficient code, with clearly documented steps in notebooks in the form of markdown
Follow best practices for test driven environment, continuous integration
Design, develop, test and implement end-to-end requirement
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Analytics & Tag Management
Deep experience working with tag management solutions such as Google Tag Manager (GTM), Adobe Launch (formerly DTM), Tealium, Ensighten, etc.
Deep experience working with site analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
Deep experience working with user behavioral data, such as web analytics (Google/Adobe Analytics)
Experience implementing mobile app analytics
Experience integrating first and third party data with analytics to drive deeper insights
Web & App Development Knowledge
Understanding of front-end web development; Experience using DOM traversal methods, using Javascript to capture values to be used for analytics variables
Experience/understanding of building analytics variables using server-side values
Understanding of Node.js is a plus, but not required
Data Science & Machine Learning
Experience building ML models and pipelines using MLflow, AirFlow
Advanced knowledge of data science techniques, and experience building, maintaining, and documenting models/advanced analytics techniques
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
Data Engineering & Cloud Technologies
Strong understanding of RDBMS data structure, Azure Tables, Blob, and other data sources
Experience building and optimizing ADF and PySpark based data pipelines, architectures and data sets on Graph and Azure Datalake
Understanding of working in cloud development environments (especially Azure, ADF, PySpark, Scala, DataBricks Delta, R, SQL)
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable Azure based data stores
Business Intelligence & Visualization
Experience in PowerBI, Tableau
Database & Querying
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
Project & Team Management
Strong project management and organizational skills
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Experience working in an Agile development environment
