The Resource Management capability is built on understanding data and relationships, which includes talent allocations, utilization and billability combined with talent performance, listening skills and emotional intelligence. Our day-to-day duties are generated by the fluctuation of workflow and revenue, which will surface through engagements with client teams, employees, managers, and team leadership or through review and analysis of key financial and operational reporting.
As Vice President, Resource Management, you will serve as a champion for Resource Management. You will work with talent directly across your functions, while maintaining oversight and guidance to other departments, agency leaders and the Resource Management team. You will be involved in and drive relevant agency initiatives to help meet business goals, serving as a subject matter expert. This role will be key in continuing to evolve a business-critical field that drives a cultural shift towards people accountability when it comes to casting, mobility, and hiring.
Responsibilities
- Resource Management Subject Matter Expert within the agency
- An expert at balancing the art and science of resourcing
- Casting; Has a strong understanding of individual skills, strengths, weaknesses and career opportunities within their designated departments
- Leads the process for regular data analysis and dissemination across the RM team
- Aware of existing or upcoming capacity across the agency, and proactively plans accordingly
- Keeps partners informed with the appropriate level of communication and information
- Translates agency vision into priorities, goals and performance expectations for team and holds team accountable
- Confronts and resolves difficult issues
- Agency lead for Resource Management-related tools and systems
- Oversees the process of preparing hiring requisitions and the prioritization of roles
- Provides a POV and business case for hiring across the agency
- Partners with Project Management to understand forecasted demand
- Leads integrated resource planning initiatives when there are new clients or high-visibility assignments; fulfills staffing needs against resource/staff plans
- Has a strong voice regarding input to staff plans
- Partner in restructure and organizational design strategies
- Builds effective relationships with business partners at all levels
- Works with the team to provide reporting and insights as needed
- Responsible for freelance tracking and forecasting
- Leads the development of standards under which the team operates, identifying areas of improvement
- Expert at strategic-level thinking, helps teams get “unstuck” when there are resourcing challenges
- Seeks out and demonstrates Groupe capabilities in developing resourcing plans, developing relationships with other Resource Managers
- Keeps a pulse on individual client resource plans, prioritizing where to focus action and attention
- Anticipates needed resources and escalates issues when lack of resources may jeopardize goals and/or client business
- Champion for our offshore resourcing strategy
- Accountable for executional responsibilities, delegating appropriately
- Strategic partner to Creative Operations, Talent, Finance and Recruiting
- Mentor and escalation point for the team and direct manager to more junior-level Resource Managers
- Creates opportunities for individuals on the team; Supports development of learning plans and direct reports’ involvement in learning activities
- Oversees talent share partnerships for their designated department(s)
- Keeps a pulse on conflict management considerations related to resourcing
- Ensures that all checks and balances are in motion when making resourcing decisions
