Overview

The Media Payables Manager will help lead the AP function supporting a portfolio of “Best in Class” media agencies. This role is responsible for overseeing offshore Shared Services staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and driving operational excellence. Acting as a key liaison between finance, media buying teams, external vendors, and audit partners, the AP Manager will provide guidance on AP processes, support financial and media system integrations, and ensure compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with leadership experience, a deep understanding of Media AP, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Media AP.


Responsibilities

• Act as the primary engagement lead for Media Agencies, supporting Agency Finance and Media Buying teams.
• Lead and manage the offshore Shared Services Media Payables team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Monitor, analyze, and report departmental KPIs to key agency stakeholders, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Treasury, Billing, and Master Data Management (MDM) to ensure seamless operations.
• Participate in the integration and continuous optimization of systems within the media financial ecosystem to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
• Oversee the media query process (AWQ), ensuring the platform is user-friendly and enables accurate, timely resolution.
• Drive process improvement initiatives focused on standardization, operational efficiency, and automation.
• Manage deliverables and documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and readiness.
• Manage vendor profile updates necessary for accurate invoice handling and refund processing.
• Leverage a strong understanding of business operations and technical systems to support effective decision-making and problem resolution.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within a Shared Services or centralized finance environment.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Familiarity with media platforms such as Mediaocean, EdenRed, or similar platforms
• Experience with SAP products

Core Competencies:
• Strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, with emphasis on invoice processing and vendor management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and geographies
• Proven problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Exhibit emotional intelligence by managing team dynamics and fostering a positive, collaborative environment
