Overview

Publicis Media is looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President, Media Planning to lead Canadian planning for a high-profile North American client. This role is fully dedicated and plays a critical part in aligning Canada’s unique media perspective within a broader, integrated continental strategy. You’ll bring a deep understanding of the Canadian media landscape, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to build impactful, 360 media plans that deliver business results.


Responsibilities

  • Lead Canadian media planning strategy across a large-scale portfolio (including digital, sponsorships, and full 360 media integration.
  • Infuse U.S./North American plans with Canadian media nuance—providing a POV that reflects domestic platforms and cultural context.
  • Develop best-in-class communication strategies: from strategic audience segmentation (Vivadata), channel planning, and KPI alignment to budget allocation and campaign measurement.
  • Partner closely with U.S. counterparts to ensure strategic cohesion while managing Canadian market-specific needs and deliverables.
  • Build, guide, and inspire a team of 9 direct reports (within a broader 20-person team), setting clear priorities, managing cross-market workloads, and supporting individual development.
  • Champion and implement process improvements that drive team efficiency within a North American structure.
  • Act as the strategic lead in senior client conversations, representing Canada with confidence and clarity.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in media planning with a strong foundation in Canadian communications strategy.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and client relationships across markets.
  • Expertise in CPG, Retail, or other high-consumption categories is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in developing 360 campaigns across digital, traditional, and sponsorship channels.
  • Strong communicator able to operate confidently in executive-level meetings across U.S. and Canadian markets.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian media measurement, platform planning, and audience strategy.
  • Passion for mentoring teams and driving a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
