QA Manual - New Initiatives Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QA Manual - New Initiatives Lead to spearhead quality assurance efforts for new product initiatives and strategic projects. This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong manual testing expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for driving quality in innovative software solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead QA efforts for new initiatives
• Participate in project planning, testing strategies and resource planning
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression and exploratory testing
• Track and report defects, testing progress, and quality metrics using tools like JIRA XRay.
• E nsure QA deliverables are aligned with project timelines and business goals.
• Mentor and guide junior QA in manual testing best practices and quality standards.
  
  

Required Skills & Abilities

• Insurance Domain Knowledge
• Hands-on experience in Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center, vendor Integrations.
• Proficiency Test Management Tool: Jira Xray for managing test cases, executions and traceability.
• Confluence and SharePoint knowledge
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments – ability to work in iterative development cycles and participate in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with API testing and data validation
• Skilled in effectively planning and prioritizing work activities
• Conduct regular team meeting with offshore QA members to gather status updates, concerns, identify blockers and escalate issues to Technical Program Managers (TPMs) during scrum ceremonies.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus
  
  

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manual software testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Proven experience working on new product initiatives or early-stage projects.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  
  

Salary: Starting at $115,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer
