Duties/Responsibilities
- Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets using SQL and Python to support pricing initiatives for homeowners insurance.
- Monitor the performance of insurance products by conducting in-depth data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights that inform product decisions.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Python libraries and SQL reporting tools.
- Develop, review, and refine pricing strategies and models for homeowners insurance products to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product management, and compliance teams to design and modify insurance products based on market insights and data analytics.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing data extraction and cleaning processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues. Deals well with ambiguity.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data science, statistics, or related quantitative field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in property and casualty insurance
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python).
- Prior experience working with homeowners insurance products, especially in Texas and/or California
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
