Job Summary:

We are seeking an Actuarial User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Specialist to join our Product Team at Bamboo Insurance, a high-growth personal homeowners insurance company. This role will focus on validating the functionality and accuracy of pricing and rate-setting systems, ensuring they align with both actuarial principles and business needs. The Actuarial UAT Specialist will work closely with actuarial, product management, and technology teams to ensure that our pricing models and systems meet the required standards. Your contributions will support Bamboo's commitment to delivering exceptional, compliant insurance solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary UAT liaison within the Product Department, collaborating with actuarial, product, and technology teams to ensure pricing systems meet business and regulatory needs.
• Develop UAT test plans focused on pricing models, rate structures, and actuarial assumptions.
• Conduct manual testing of pricing applications, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with actuarial models.
• Validate pricing data flow through systems for accuracy and consistency.
• Test complex pricing workflows, rate changes, and adjustments to align with business and regulatory standards.
• Provide regular updates to Product team leadership on testing progress, issues, and risks.
• Assist in training the product team on new pricing functionalities and actuarial model updates.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of insurance pricing models, rate structures, and actuarial principles.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues in pricing workflows, calculations, and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document pricing issues and work with cross-functional teams.
• Skilled in escalating pricing issues and suggesting improvements to enhance rate-setting accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong prioritization skills, especially in testing and validating pricing systems in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education and Experience:

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with Python and SQL.
• A minimum of two actuarial exams completed.
• Understanding of homeowners insurance products including coverages and forms, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in insurance product management is a plus.
• Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, particularly in a regulated industry.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary: Starting at $75,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer
